THE GLAZIERS’ AUTUMN LIVERY DINNER AT GLAZIERS HALL
ON MONDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER 2015
Reception 7.00 pm for Dinner at 7.30 pm. Carriages 10.30 pm
The Master and Wardens cordially invite you to the Autumn Livery Dinner at GLAZIERS HALL on Monday
28th SEPTEMBER 2015.
The Dinner will follow the St Matthew’s Day Quarter Court Meeting. Enjoy a reception, followed by a three course
dinner in the atmospheric wood-panelled Court Room, accompanied by carefully chosen wines & port.
The principal guest and speaker will be John Bly who has been a furniture expert on BBC Television's Antiques Roadshow
since it started in 1978, and has his own ITV programme Heirloom. He is an international lecturer on antiques and writes
for a variety of specialist magazines.
He has written and edited 14 books ; his most recent is for Miller's and is entitled John
Bly's Antiques Masterclass . In recent years John Bly has become an acclaimed and
highly successful Charity Auctioneer achieving thousands of pounds—or dollars— for
national and international charities with his warmth and quick wit.
From a background of naval seamen, pottery decorators, horse traders, fellmongers,
American Civil War soldiers, priests, architects and antique dealers, John Bly's life has
been as entertaining and varied as his ancestry. His in-depth knowledge, his enthusiasm and ability to draw has made
him a popular and engaging speaker and raconteur.
John Bly is a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was made
Chairman of the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA) in July 1999.
We anticipate a good response to what will be undoubtedly be an entertaining and convivial Glaziers' Livery Dinner, and
where we shall also welcome 2 new Freemen (maybe more!), admitted by the Court earlier that day. Members are
welcome to, indeed encouraged, to bring guests who might be interested in joining the Company. The ticket price for
