Senior Instructor in the Instrumentation Department of the Corporate Training Division of QP. Take responsibility within assigned areas of work for preparing, conducting and assessing TAFE education programs in Instrumentation at Certificate II (entry level), Certificate III (trade level), Certificate IV (technician level), at QP Training Centre in Doha, Qatar. Assist Senior Instructor/Supervisor in a range of activities associated with the effective operation of TAFE education programs at the QP Training Centre. Select and deliver appropriate teaching and learning materials. 2. Develop and modify appropriate teaching and learning materials as appropriate to meet company and Trainee needs. 3. Establish and maintain a learning environment, including coaching and encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning. 4. Supervise and monitor student progress on a regular basis and assess student skills and competencies against required standards and in accordance with Curriculum/Training Package documentation. 5. Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment, in accordance with Divisional policies and procedures. 6. Prepare and maintain teaching and learning resources, exams and tests. 7. Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs in line with Corporate Training Division requirements. 8. Monitor the training, tools, machinery, equipment and materials used in training programs to ensure they are maintained to the standards required. 9. Provide assistance with program related or administrative tasks as allocated within the scheduled duties in consultation with the Senior Instructor/Supervisor. 10. Provide pre-course advice to students and participate in student selection, entry testing, interviewing and induction. 11. Undertake Local Review Audits as required. 12. Other duties as directed by Senior Instructor/Supervisor. Internal Communication Requirements 2 Educational Qualifications Minimum Degree, Diploma or equivalent in Instrumentation. An approved apprenticeship together with extensive work experience in relevant occupation following commencement of the apprenticeship. Preferred Knowledge and Experience Skills Job Profile (QP Instrumentation Technician) Successful completion of an approved course of teacher training accredited at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 5, which includes supervised teaching practice. Experience in the Gas and/or Oil Industries. Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent. A level of knowledge and experience to exercise judgement and initiative in carrying out duties within the limits imposed by the Training Package qualification, regulations, professional standards and QP Corporate Division’s policies and procedures. High degree of proficiency in subject expertise and in teaching techniques; Knowledge of current standards pertaining to the oil and gas industries. Detailed knowledge of relevant materials, equipment, machines, application and use of tools and the latest processes relevant to Instrumentation. The ability to select and deliver teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to the learning context, subject content, the goals and standards required by the program and the background of the learners; Proficient analytical, communication and organisational skills A QP Instrumentation Technician would carry out the following: Install, test and commission instruments. Check and calibrate instruments. Calibrate control valves. Service fire, gas and smoke detectors. 3 Loop checking and trouble shooting of instruments. Checking and replacements of temperature points and thermo wells. General maintenance of Instrumentation systems. Successful applicants are welcome to take family however all flights, visas, relocation etc will be your responsibility. Salary paid monthly in Qatar Riyal (QAR). 2 semesters per year, 4 term breaks, semesters are from first week of September to end July, break month of August. Teaching hours are approximately 20 hours per week face to face plus 18-20 hours preparation and assessment time, Sunday to Thursday from 6.30am – 2.30pm. Classroom sizes are 10 - 12 maximum for practical and 12 - 20 maximum for theory. Instructors will be teaching Australian qualifications, Certificates I to IV in specialised field. Successful candidates will be required to complete Police Clearance and Medical check.
