Aalto-yliopisto Recor’s decision 9 Dec. 2013; 13 Jan. 2014 added AaltoCHEM’s criteria for publication scholarship/ S. Liukko Aalto University incentive scholarships for doctoral candidates as of 1 January 2014 Aalto University awards incentive scholarships to doctoral candidates of CHEM, ENG, SCI, ELEC and ARTS according to the following principles. The scholarships are awarded to students who have fulfilled the requirements as of 1 January 2014. 500 euro scholarship for the first scientific article, in which the doctoral candidate is one of the main authors, published on a publication forum specified by the Aalto school* Aalto CHEM’s criteria for this publication scholarship 500 euros publication scholarship will be granted for the first scientific, peer reviewed article (excluding book review or comment) which will be included to candidate’s dissertation The doctoral candidate is the one of main authors (first writer); Peer reviewed article has been published in series indexed by Thomson Reuters Web of Science (ISI) and which possess an impact (JIF) during the time of acceptance or publication; The article has been accepted for publishing or published after 1st January 2014; Supervising professor accepts the doctoral candidate’s application form with his/her signature ; Together with the application form, the doctoral candidate must submit the published article or direct link to electronic article; This scholarship can be granted only once for each doctoral student; 500 euro scholarship for doctoral candidate who has, within one year and 6 months of the date of admission to pursue doctoral studies, completed the theoretical studies (40 credits) in accordance with his/her individual study plan approved for the postgraduate degree OR for doctoral candidate who has, within two years of the date of admission to pursue doctoral studies, completed the theoretical studies (60 credits) in accordance with his/her individual study plan approved for the postgraduate degree (note also: 60 cr. study plans are valid until the end of year 2015) 2,000 euro scholarship for completing the doctoral degree, provided that these two requirements were fulfilled within eight full semesters, starting from the date of admission to pursue doctoral studies: 1) completed the theoretical studies in accordance with his/her individual study plan approved for the postgraduate degree AND 2) Doctoral Programme Committee has accepted the dissertation manuscript for pre-examination and accepted the pre-examiners for it. OR for completing the doctoral degree, provided that the degree was earned by the end of the calendar year the doctoral candidate turns 30. These scholarships are awarded with criteria mentioned above, for those doctoral students who have fulfilled the requirements during the time period 1 January 2014 – 31 December 2017. Doctoral student must apply for the scholarship within the six months, starting from the time the requirements for scholarship were fulfilled The time spent on maternity and parental leave as well as national military or non-military service completed (documents required) may be excluded from the calculated duration of study. However, if the scholarship is age related no deduction is granted.
