1.
Plans and coordinates the administration of Trent Online in support of students and faculty; Provides administrative assistance to the Instructional Designer, Coordinator,
Trent Online, and Divisional Dean in charge of Trent Online; Handles confidential matters relating to faculty, students and administrative issues on a regular basis;
Reviews and updates off-campus exam proctoring policies; Supports the Co-ordinator,
Distance Education in developing institutional strategies, infrastructure and policies to advance and promote the online learning program at Trent University.

Liaises with other departments of the University such as the RO, the Finance Office, library and academic departments regarding issues concerning distance education;
Liaises with faculty and proctors to coordinate exam details and exam documentation;

Dissemination of distance education information to public, potential students, faculty, stakeholders and outside agencies; act as a representative and present/speak at education fairs and other public or trade events in conjunction with recruitment staff; respond to inquiries and correspondence on own initiative; ensures student questions and/or concerns are directed to the appropriate departments.

Promotion of Trent Online program through the development and maintenance of print, web and social media campaigns, involving close collaboration with liaison, strategic enrolment and communication departments to ensure consistent messaging; stay current in pedagogical and educational technology advances through participation in relevant communities of practice and other professional development.

Maintains records and compiles information on online students, perspective students, exam details and course inventories. Ensures all outside websites containing listings of
Trent online courses are current.

6.
Assists the Instructional Designer, Trent Online with the creation of course materials, quizzes/surveys, assignments, video/web streams, podcasts, and/or other materials utilizing instructional technology tools, strategies, and resources.
7.
Development and maintenance of support systems for students registered in online courses by creating and updating thorough and complete web-based materials, and by dispensing one-on-one advice, guidance and technical information that will assist distance users in accessing and utilizing Blackboard resources optimally.
8.
Reviews and updates off-campus exam proctoring policies. Co-ordinates arrangements for students to write exams at Trent’s University Durham campus. Develops network of exam proctoring sites and coordinates exam sites for online students unable to write exams at either Trent’s Peterborough or Durham campus including: tracking off-site exam requests (Canada, US, overseas) from students, shipment of exam documentation and policies to and from off-site centres, arranging logistics directly with students.

General University Degree (3 year) or College or technical school diploma (3 year) in
Multimedia, Graphic Design or a related field.
Additional training and/or experience in Adult Education and/or Project Management an asset.
1.
Minimum of one year directly related experience in online technologies, specifically in a post-secondary environment. Preference will be given to those with experience working in a support role with Learning Management Systems.

Minimum of one to two years of experience with the creation of multimedia materials, course content materials, and online assessments.

Word processing/computer knowledge and experience essential, including expertise with Microsoft Word, spreadsheet applications, e-mail management, Contribute,

Colleague/Datatel and Learning Management Systems (Blackboard). Web-browsing and researching skills essential. Experience with graphic design programs (Adobe
Photoshop, Contribute and InDesign) an asset.

Knowledge of the creation of learning materials in a variety of formats including graphics, audio, video, animation and other multimedia to support teaching and learning.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to deal with students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with others, in a complex and multi-faceted work environment essential.
6.
Proven ability managing print, web and social media campaigns. Knowledge of recruitment and admissions in a post-secondary environment an asset.

Excellent organizational skills and the required demonstrated ability to take initiative essential.

Good knowledge of budgetary procedures and meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to handle stress and prioritize in a high volume office with frequent interruptions and conflicting priorities.
