word. You literally could have heard a pin drop. I think she received two standing ovations and

I must tell you what an amazing experience we had with Dr. Trent. We have never had such a
full house and such a remarkable speaker! She is so cordial and accommodating, and that
alone was wonderful. But her presentation today topped anyone I have ever heard, which

Dr. Trent was one of our keynote speakers for our Community Leaders Conference in 2012. I
didn’t know much about her until that time – and, now I will not forget her. She is one of the most
inspirational speakers I have had the privilege of hearing. Her story is one of perseverance and
hope – an extraordinary journey. She came from an environment in Africa where young girls
were not given the opportunity to be educated and achieved her lifetime goal. She broke free
of the poverty she lived in, went to school – eventually earning a Ph.D and then has devoted her
life to helping other young African girls achieve their goals.
