MISC Recyclable Items:
The following items can be brought to CCASWA for recycling.
Appliances:
Large home appliances such as stoves, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, water heaters, washing machines,
dryers, deep freezers, microwaves, and furnaces (OR PARTS OF ANY OF THESE ITEMS) are accepted in
our appliance program. Appliances cannot be landfilled. Appliances - $7 each.
Scrap Metal :
Metal such as bicycles, lawnmowers, fencing, feed bunkers, chairs, etc. are accepted for metal. Must be
free of contaminants. These items can be accepted at no charge.
Tires :
All residents and businesses will be charged the following for tires...
1-10 car/light truck tires - $2.50 each
1-10 car/light truck tires on rim- $3.50 each
More than 10 tires at once will be weighed and fees graduate up to $180 per ton
Example- 1000 lbs. of tires will be $90
Agricultural, Off-Road Implement, and Large Tires will be weighed and fees graduate up to $260 per ton
Example- 1000 lbs. of Ag tires will be $130
ALL BUSINESSES MUST WEIGH ANY AMOUNT OF TIRES. SHREDDED OR CUT TIRES CAN NO LONGER BE
TAKEN TO THE LANDFILL. ALL TIRES MUST BE RECYCLED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.
Electronic Waste:
Residents can bring electronic items that contain a circuit board for recycling. Items include computer
related items, TV's, VCR's, Radios, Stereos, Copiers, Cell Phones, and Telephones. Residents will be
charged the following:
Computer Towers or CPUs and Small or Regular Printers / Copiers - $5.00 each
ALL Computer Monitors and Televisions (screen size 20 inches or less) - $10.00 each
Large Copier/Printers- $10.00 each.
Televisions (screen size over 20 inches) - $15.00 each.
Please check for rates on other items.
Businesses and schools will be charged for all electronic items. A $5.00 per unit charge for all items.
Exceptions are listed above.
Medical Sharps:
Medical sharps are accepted from residents at no cost. All sharps must be in a hard plastic container
with a lid. Plastic laundry detergent bottles and coffee cans with lids work well. Businesses that have
medical sharps will be charged $3.00 per gallon container. Appointments are necessary for businesses.
FINES: A $50 PER ITEM FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE ITEMS ILLEGALLY DISPOSED OF
AT THE LANDFILL OR PUBLIC DROP-OFF. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF IT CAN BE THROWN AWAY, THEN
ASK. IT IS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
