Dave McCament (Health Science)


I was able to connect the following classes with their corresponding departments/programs in Health Science:
HS 100 C Trends in Heath Care Delivery ~ a course belonging to HIT
HS/HSCE 161 C Dying/Death & Grief/ Mourning ~ a course which may belong to or is going to
Humanities
HS 203 C Medical Quality Management ~ a course belonging to HIT
HS 277 C Cultural Awareness & Health Care ~ our only “orphan” course in need of going thru the SLO
loop
HSCE 260 C Fluoroscopy Permit Course ~ a course belonging to RADT
HSCE 262 C Cross-Sectional Imagining ~ " "
"
"
"
""
HSCE 264 C Vascular Sonography Technology ~ " " " " " " "
HSCE 266 C Breast Imaging
~" " " " " " "
It seems then we have only one course which must go through the loop closure procedure. I have offered
my assistance to the instructor of this particular course. The dean reminded all faculty members at our
division meeting that we need to have our program SLOs completed ASAP.
Brandy Young (Social Science)
 Social science faculty members are continuing to close the loop on our courses. Several faculty members
are writing the reports for courses in which they had collected data in the Fall. Approximately twenty
courses are scheduled to go through the loop this semester.
Lenore Landis (SEM)
 The SEM division reviewed the GE SLOs and Richard Fee will discuss the changes with the GE
committee. The division is also concerned about mapping multiple choice questions to the critical
thinking GE SLO. By the end of the semester, both the math and chemistry departments plan on closing
the loop on all their courses. Only the math department will have program SLOs.
Alison Robertson via E-Mail (Language/Arts )
 The LA Division is making progress with an increase in SLO/CAT creation and new reports coming in
slowly. We seem to be on track
William Pashaie (Library)
 The library has completed the SLO cycle for 100% of its classroom instruction. We are currently going
through another cycle for Library 100. The collected data will be assessed and a report will be written at
the end of spring quarter.
Sarah Jaffray (Fine Arts)
 There is little to no change in our status. We are currently working on completing approximately 70
reports to be uploaded to TracDat at the end of the semester and are in the process of uploading our
SLO/CATs to TracDat. Our next division meeting, March 17th, is devoted to questions about SLO
reports, revisions, and completing the Program SLOs. I will also present and field questions about the
GE SLOs.
Susana Jianto (CIS/BUS)
 One of our CIS faculty members has written 12 reports last month. I will encourage him to write more
reports this month. We will work on and hopefully finalize our program SLO by the end of March.
Richard Hock (CTE)
 Automotive Technology is continuing to complete its SLO's and assessments on TracDat. The division
is pushing for completion for the upcoming accreditation.
Renay Laguana (Counseling)
 There were concerns at the Counseling Division meeting regarding the GE SLO's. Scheduled a meeting
w/Nancy D., P. Gaynor & P. Gabourie to discuss issues. 2 reports in progress and 3 courses closing the
loop this semester.
SLO Assessment Committee
 Nancy indicated that the senate had questions regarding the SLO Assessment committee, and will invite
the core SLO members to their next meeting to provide answers.
 The group discussed the issues regarding the SLO Assessment committee. There were concerns from
Fine Arts rep with the responsibilities of the SLO assessment committee members, and the issue of
“oversight” over a faculty-driven process.
 It was decided to set up a meeting between the core SLO committee members and Fine Arts senate
members and SLO rep prior to the senate meeting to discuss their concerns.
Program SLOs, Vocational (Ben)
 We need to complete the program SLOs ASAP to prepare them for publication in the catalog. The
deadline is early April.
Program SLOs, GE (Ben)
 The GE committee members met on Feb 4th and Feb 18th. The GE SLOs has been discussed in most of
the divisions and will be sent to senate for the 2nd reading in April.
TracDat Training (Ben)
 TracDat training for HS, SEM, and Fine Arts were completed in Feb. Counseling is the only division left
to go through the training.
Next Meeting
 Wednesday April 7th 2010, 3:00-4:30 CCC 407
