Description of Duties Expected of Student: These student(s) would help develop experiments that support NASA funded research at PSU. The experiments are to be conducted in a drop tower facility that enables 2.1 seconds of microgravity time within which to collect data. The experiments focus on capillary fluidic phenomena that are critical to fluid systems aboard spacecraft. Depending on NASA ’s schedule these students may also be part of remote control operations of a space experiment currently abroad the International Space Station.
Specific Job Skills : Helpful, but not essential skills include spreadsheets (i.e. Excel), solid modeling software (i.e.
Solidworks); photography in general, video imaging, image analysis, assembly of simple devices, independent learner, and attention to detail. Solid math, communication, & motivation assumed.

Description of Duties Expected of Student: The student will be expected to enter historical data from the 19th century or early 20th century onto a spreadsheet, and be capable of learning basic Excel commands and plotting techniques in order to quality assure the entered data. This is part of a larger project to recover hundreds of stationyears of archival tide data that have never been digitized, and are therefore not used to compute global sea-level.
The student will have the opportunity to learn about tide data and how mean sea-level is computed.

Description of Duties Expected of Student: The Grad. School of Education is developing a program to recruit and support students of color who want to become teachers. This intern would shadow the program coordinator, helping them to consider the student ’s perspective while developing the recruitment methods and program supports at the undergraduate level. Tasks will include participating in planning meetings, providing written feedback on ideas or reports, researching information on programs online, documenting meeting outcomes & next steps for the planning term. The work will primarily take place on the PSU campus in the education building; off-campus meetings optional.
OHSU Think First Oregon: (4 positions/ 80 hours each) $

Job Summary: Assist at community events, learn how to present injury prevention materials, assist on special projects in office, data entry, filing, design projects if interested, public speaking (if interested).
Assist with Senior Fall Prevention programs and classes. Assist with design projects and Power Point projects. Learn about the brain, concussions, brain injury, and injury prevention.

Description of Duties Expected of Student: Assist with coordination of Summer Learning Activities for youth residing in low-income housing complexes.
