Systems Engineering (Part-Time) Mobius defense programs include the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as it develops, tests, and fields an integrated Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Successful candidates will have a background in engineering with a focus on systems engineering. Interns are typically paired with a senior engineer to perform systems engineering tasks associated with the development and verification of product performance and or requirements. Key responsibilities may include: Assist with the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes and tools Support translation of customer needs to system functions, requirements and use cases Perform system performance analysis using various tools; including MATLAB based tools Support development and upgrade of simulation tools Support test planning and execution Assist with the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes and tools Facilitate resolution of cross-functional technical issues identified by others to ensure optimized solutions Assist with the development and maintenance of integrated planning products and associated data gathering. Help create presentations for prospective and existing clients Desired Skills include: The position is for current engineering students Bachelor’s degree or current bachelor’s degree candidate ; preferred but not required Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm in engineering and US National Defense Candidates should have completed coursework or training providing exposure to the Systems Engineering process, a structured design/product development process, or Product Life Cycle concepts. Experience compiling technical data into reports or presentations. Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skill Key Requirements include: Applicants must be self-starters with the ability to work on-site and remotely for 10-15 hours per week All candidates must pass a background investigation* and drug screening prior to hire and will be subject to random drug testing * This position may require work with US National Defense System information and therefore may require the Candidate to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance (most likely at the Secret level)
