SPECIAL ISSUE ON INNOVATION IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING About the Journal The International Journal of Software Engineering and Computing (IJSEC) is published by Serials Publisher. The journal is published two times each year. It is intended to serve as a forum for researchers, practitioners, and developers to exchange ideas and results for the advancement of software engineering and computing. The journal publishes papers in the areas of software engineering methods and practices, object-oriented systems, rapid prototyping, software reuse, clean room software engineering, stepwise refinement/enhancement, formal methods of specification, ambiguity in software development, logic programming, expert systems, deductive database systems, software and knowledge-ware maintenance, reverse engineering in software design, and applications in various domains of interest. The journal is Indexed in various bibliographic databases like SCOPUS, Mathematical Reviews, MathSciNet, IndexCopernicus Zentralblatt fur Mathematik, EBSCOhost, Elsevier's bibliographic database, Ei databases index, EMBASE, EMCare, CAP International, and Indian Sciences Abstract. About Special Issue Software Engineering had very interesting role to play in almost all sectors owing to the dependencies on software used for automation. Any sector whether it’s being medicine, education, engineering etc, wants timely, less costly and innovative software that fulfils their needs and expectations. It calls for improving the Software Engineering Practices so as to deliver high quality software that may benefit the sectors enjoying the feeling of automation. This special issue invites original submissions that present innovative methods, tools and techniques that result in improvements in SE practices. Papers reporting the experiences, transitions from different practices, are also welcome. Subject Coverage Papers are invited covering, but not limited, the following topics: • New modelling techniques • Automation support and improvement • Requirements engineering • Software testing • Software maintenance • Programming/coding practices • Decision making in software development • Model-driven development and testing • Regression testing of software applications • Automatization and parallelisation of testing techniques • Validation and verification • Agile/iterative/incremental software testing • Software testing with open source tools and third party software • Software mutation testing • Automatic test case generation • Software testing case studies and surveys • Testing concurrent software • Domain-specific testing (security testing/web-service testing/database testing/embedded software testing) • Testing in globally-distributed organisations • Requirement engineering aspects related to testing • Automated learning of test models • Testing of timed and randomised models • Formal methods for testing • Empirical Validations and negatives about existing research supported by empirical data. • Survey Results/Case Studies Notes for Prospective Authors Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. In case submitted paper is extension of earlier published paper, taking the permissions from any copyright holders of the original paper lies with the authors. Such paper must have at least 50% additional research content. Please follow the detailed notes to authors on journal home page (http://serialsjournals.com/journaldetail.php?journals_id=181). All papers must be submitted to varun13_cse@yahoo.co.in Special about review Process All papers are refereed through a double blind peer review process. The review time is tentative 1 month after editorial acceptance. However review time may take longer time. The papers rejected from the reputed journals on grounds of parameters like out of scope, inability of authors to pay huge fees etc, must submit the details of journal and review reports. The journal will then ask the corresponding journal to verify the reports. If another journal cooperates in the process, the reports will then be analyzed by editor or any of his nominee. If the Editor or any of his nominees establishes that paper is of high standards then papers will be accepted without any further review. The decision of editor in this case will be final. In such cases, the authors will get decision early without any requirement for double blind peer review process. The time taken will depend on time taken for verification by another journal and review of reports (or paper as the case may be) by editor or his nominee. Deadlines Under this category, the submission will undergo through the following stages: 1. Editorial Screening: 5 Days 2. Double Blind Peer Review Process: 1 Months 3. Publication: As per Serial Publisher Schedule. Important Dates Submission of manuscripts Ends: 30 December, 2014 Notification to authors: (Editorial): Within 5 days, Review: Within 1 Months. Final Decision (In case of papers requiring modification): May 2015. Guest Editors: Dr. Varun Gupta, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh. Dr. Chetna Gupta, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, India
