Climate Change Problems and Solutions
Albedo
Albedo at earth’s surface affects the amount of solar radiation that a region receives.
Solar Radiation is radiant energy emitted by the sun, particularly electromagnetic energy. It is
important because it gives off natural energy. Deforestation also increases Albedo causing more
solar radiation to be reflected back into space. If large stretches of Artic sea ice were to melt, for
example, the Albedo in the Arctic would drop. To fix/reduce this problem as a student I would
create a Stop Global Warming Group, and get enough people to convince the Government, and
Logging companies to reduce cutting down trees. It would reduce the amount of solar radiation
being affected by Albedo.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, is known for being a laughing gas, nitrous, nitro, or NOS is a chemical
compound with the formula N 2O. Nitrous oxide works very rapidly. It can reach the brain within
20 seconds, and relaxation. Also pain-killing properties develop after 2 or 3 minutes (for medical
problems). Nitrous Oxide can also create health problems for some people when they become
exposed to it. Nitrous Oxide also has components of laughing gas witch some people will be
affected by it. Nitrous Oxide isn’t for everyone. They should create something else that can do
just as much or even more positive effects, but is okay for everyone to breathe in.
Ozone
Ozone is a colorless unstable toxic gas with a pungent odor and powerful oxidizing
properties, formed from oxygen by electrical discharges or ultraviolet light. Man-made CFCs are
the main cause of stratospheric ozone depletion. CFCs have a lifetime of about 20 to 100 years,
and consequently one free chlorine atom from a CFC molecule can do a lot of damage,
destroying ozone molecules for a long time. If ozone is high up in the air its good, if it down to
where you can breathe it then it’s bad. Ozone is really important. So we as students can Wright
a partition stating the important’s of ozone, and why/how it is affected by humans.
Chlorofluorocarbons
Chlorofluorocarbons also known as CFC’s is any of a class of compounds of carbon,
hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine, typically gases used in refrigerants and aerosol propellants.

Chlorofluorocarbons is affecting and destroying ozone and will continue to do so for many years.
CFC’s are manmade as well. Another negative affect is that CFC’s threatens to accelerate the
rate of global warming. The positive affect is that CFC’s benefit the earth’s climate because CFCs
are also potent greenhouse gases. This can easily be controlled because CFC’s are made by
humans. As a student we can at least ask to reduce the creation of CFC’s on earth by
newspaper.
