 Functions
o Evaluate functions such as f(3) = 3x - 5
o Find the inverse of a function f-1(x)

 Angle Properties
o Calculate unknown angles using the following geometrical properties:
 Angles at a point;
 Angles at a point on a straight line and intersecting straight lines;
 Angles formed within parallel lines;
 Angle properties of triangle and quadrilaterals;
 Angle properties of regular polygons;
 Angle in a semi-circle;
 Angle between tangent and radius of a circle;
 Angle properties of irregular polygons;
 Angle at the centre of a circle is twice the angle at the circumference;
 Angles in the same segment are equal;
 Angles in opposite segments are supplementary, cyclic quadrilaterals.
 Vectors in two dimensions
o Describe a translation by using a vector represented by:
 A directed line segment denoted by AB or a
 A column vector x

o Add and subtract vectors.
o Multiply a vector by a scalar.
o Calculate the magnitude of a vector.
o Use the sum and difference of two vectors to express given vectors by two
coplanar vectors.
o Use position vectors.
 Transformations
o Reflect simple plane figures in horizontal or vertical lines
o Rotate simple plane figures through multiples of 900:
 About the origin;
 About the vertices;
 About the mid-points of edges of the figure
o Translate simple plane figures using a given column vector;

Important:
Enlarge simple plane figures given the centre of enlargement and the scale
factor.
Reflect simple plane figures in a line defined by its equation.
Stretch and shear simple plane figures given the shear/scale factor and the
invariant line.
Recognise and fully describe the above mentioned transformations.
Please take with you a pen and sharpened pencils, a
ruler and a calculator.
None of these items will be provided in the exam
room.
