OEDS DIVERSITY PLAN Diversity Goal 1: Recruit, retain, advance, recognize, and promote a diverse faculty, staff and administration while creating a campus-wide community that celebrates its own diversity as one of its strengths and as a means of shaping Mason’s identity as a university. Current Status: 1.1 School/Department Goal or Implementation Strategy for Diversity Goal 1 OEDS will improve, recruit, and promote partnerships with Human Resources and the Provost’s Office to facilitate better outreach/communication with Mason staff/faculty to ensure all academic and non-academic searches are conducted by individuals who attended search committee training. Performance Indicators for this Goal/Strategy 1. 100% of search committee members must complete search committee training before participating in a search. 2. Chairs/Deans should ensure recruitment pools at least approach availability of diverse groups as required by EO Plan. 3. Evidence of broad-based search must be certified by the OEDS Director. Tasks 1.1A – Advertisements for positions should be placed in outlets that are most likely to attract individuals who could make contributions to diversity.
