There are no other events of this magnitude in the Detroit that support colon cancer.

with our community of survivors and co-survivors, to stand united until the promise of a world without colon
cancer is fulfilled and the cures are found.

As part of the leading colon cancer organization, the Metro Detroit Affiliate of Chris4Life is committed to
ending colon cancer forever. On November 2, 2013, I will join hundreds of others playing a part in the 2nd
Annual Scope It Out Detroit 5K Run / Walk for Colon Cancer Awareness at Willow Metro Park in New Boston,
MI. By making a donation on my behalf, you are supporting local Immunology research at the Barbara Ann
Karmanos Cancer Institute to treat colorectal cancer.
Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Every 9.3 minutes, someone in the
U.S. dies of colon cancer. It is likely you know someone who has been diagnosed with colon cancer – perhaps
you or your spouse, a relative, coworker, neighbor or friend – someone in your life’s circle who has heard
those terrible words, “You have colon cancer.”
A diagnosis of colon cancer affects more than just the patient. When someone we love is diagnosed, we all
are affected. Families work doubly hard to keep homes running smoothly while their loved one goes
through treatment. Businesses struggle, not only to support their coworker, but also to fill the gaps in
productivity. You see, colon cancer doesn’t care – so we have to care!
