Jane Xie
As one of China’s promising pianists, Jane Xie is active
on stage in Europe, Australia, Korea, Singapore and
China. She has worked with leading conductors such
as: Mikhail Pletnev,Phillip Bender, Xu Zhong, Misha
Damev, Nanse Gum, Muhai Tang, Cao Peng, Chen
Xieyang, Chen Zhengzhe, Yongji Wang and Zhang
liang. The orchestras she has played with were
included: the Russian National Orchestra, Belearic
Islands Symphony Orchestra of Spain, 2011 Italian
Youth Orchestra, Chamber Music Symphony
Orchestra of the Royal Irish Academy of Music,
Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra of Korea, Shanghai
Oriental Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony
Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra , Xiamen
Philharmonic Orchestra and Shanghai City Symphony
Orchestra. Praised by prestigious musicians such as:
Jean-Claude Casadesus, as “A great female pianist
with brilliant technique, beautiful sound and good
taste of music”, Jane’s performances have won high
acclaim from critics as well as audiences. She
appeared at the Chopin Festival in Valldemossa in
Mallorca; Lille Piano Festival in France and Shanghai
Arts Festival. In May 2011 her concert with
Mo.Mikhail Pletnev and the Russian National
Orchestra at the closing ceremony of the 28th
Shanghai International Spring Music Festival was a
significant milestone in her career. In addition to her
solo performances, Jane passionately dedicated
herself to chamber music. Her chamber music
partners included the mexican cellist Carlos Prieto
Jaquar and the german violinist David Garett.
Meanwhile as a freelance contributor, interpreter and
composer, Jane’s compositions have been played in
TV series, such as “2011 China’s Record Show” and
her articles on music have been published in major
music magazines, notably Music Lover in Shanghai.
She dedicated part of her time also to culture
exchanges and charity events, such as the Munich
Asian Nights in 2007, Asian Cultural Promotion
Conference in Singapore in 2010. During the Expo
2010, she was invited as a special guest to lead and
play at the “EXPO Messengers”Concert and at the
closing ceremony of the 14th FINA World
Championship, she was invited to play at the
Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. At the 2012 Yeosu
Expo, Korea, she was invited to play the EXPO Piano
Concerto at the Yeosu Expo Hall. She played at the
charity concerts held by the Rotary Club in Spain and
China. She appeared also on the Charity Evenings by
the Shanghai Government and Shanghai Charity
Federeation. She helped autism children by teaching
them how to play the piano.
In 2010, she was recognized as one of the Top 10
Successful Women by the Hong Kong Jessica
Magazine. In 2011, Her latest CD album Chinese
Melodies was released by the Shanghai Audio&Video
Publishing house and at the same year, she was the
Recommended Artist on the Cultural Talent Board by
the Wenhui Daily. Her Live Concert DVD with
Mo.Mikhail Pletnev and the Russian National
Orchestra at the 28th Shanghai International Spring
Music Festival was newly released.
Since September 2011 Jane became the youngest
faculty member at the Piano Department of the
Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She was a juror at
piano competitions and was invited to give music
lectures and speeches, such as the 2011 MISA Music
Festival, Shanghai and the Beautiful Sunday Music
Lecture at the Shen Zhen Concert Hall. Recently she
has given successfully a master course at the
Musicale Savinese Music Festival in Tuscany, Italy.
Graduated at the Music and Performing Arts, Munich,
Germany, Jane Xie obtained her Meisterklasse Degree
in 2008. Her previous teachers were: Fu Jiamin, Prof.
Shuxing Zheng, Prof. Gitti Pirner, Prof.Lilya
Zilberstein. She was the first prize winner of the XV
Rotary International Piano Competition in Spain and
a prize winner of the piano competitions, such as the
Seiler International Piano Competition in Kitzingen,
Germany; the Stravinsky Piano Competition in USA
and the Munich International Youth Piano
Competition in Germany.
