As a mother we all want what is best for our new born. We spend hours, days and even
months preparing and awaiting for the baby’s arrival. We spend time decorating the
nursery, we deicide on which diaper is best for the baby, we even think of the years
ahead, what school they will attend, what college to send them to, and if we will even be
good parents. We also think about how we will feed our baby, where will the best
nutrition’s come from, and the answer to that question is the mother’s milk.
1) The Nutritional Value of Breast Milk Can’t Be Copied. It’s true cow’s milk
and manufactured formulas do contain healthy nutrients for your baby, but they
can’t compare to breast milk. Every time your baby consumes your breast milk,
your supplying their growing little bodies with a host of natural fatty acids, amino
acids, antibodies, lactose and more. Studies have shown that babies who are
breastfed are sick less, than those babies who aren’t. Babies who are breastfed are
more protected from bronchitis, pneumonia, influenza, ear infections and German
measles, and more illnesses.
2) Breast Milk is Naturally Sterile and Safe. When you are feeding your baby
with a bottle of cow’s milk, or a store bought formula that’s mixed with water,
you have to be extra careful, that everything involved with the feeding is sterile. If
not careful with what you’re feeding your baby, the baby can pick up germs and
organisms that can be harmful to their health. Breast-feeding your baby is 100%
safe; just make sure your nipples are clean, so the breast milk, along with the
feeding process, will be sterile and safe for your baby.
3) It’s Always the Right Temperature. The good thing about breast feeding your is
that t milk is always the right temperature. You don’t have to worry about the
milk being too hot, or not warm enough, like you would do when you would use a
mottle with cow’s milk or formula, and you also don’t need to worry about
contaminated water or expiration dates.
4) Mother’s Milk Itself Never Causes Allergic Reactions. Another good thing
about breast-feeding your baby is you would never have to worry about your baby
suffering from allergic reactions. Cow’s milk contains healthy proteins, but it’s
these proteins that can cause the adverse reaction.
5) Breast Milk Cost Less Money. Breast milk is essentially free because a
mother’s body produces it to feed her baby, but cow’s milk costs about five
dollars a gallon, and manufactured baby formulas cost even more. Just remember
the bigger your baby grows, the more formula the baby will need and the more
money it will cost.
6) Mother’s Milk Helps Reduces Female Breast Cancer. Studies have shown that
females, who were breastfed as a baby, grow up with a 25% less chance of
developing breast cancer when they become adults. By Breastfeeding your baby
you are protecting your daughter’s health in the future as well.
7) Breast Milk is Better for Our Environment. Because mother’s milk comes in
its own natural container, breastfeeding a baby involves no bottles, paper,
wrappers, canisters or any man-made material. By feeding your baby cow’s milk
or formula, it’s producing tons of waste paper, tin, plastic, glass, rubber and other
materials every year. This is another reason on why you should breastfeed your
baby.
Personal thoughts:
About 5 years ago, my aunt Lauren was told she couldn’t have any babies because
she was missing her right Fallopian Tube. My aunt Lauren and my uncle Rob then
decided to adopt a baby. Once my aunt and uncle adopted a baby, I came over to
meet our newest family member. That same day I went with my aunt to Wal-Mart
to buy the baby Formula and bottles and other accessories, my aunt spent over
100 dollars on formulas and bottles that day. A Month later I had question my
aunt on how much she spent on just formula for the baby and she said over 300
dollars a month, and that was because she bought only the best formula for the
baby, and had to buy a lot of bottles and stuff to clean the bottles for the baby. In
my opinion, you should always breast feed, because it’s cheaper and healthier for
the baby. Unless you are put in a situation like my aunt and you had no choice but
to buy formula.
