Our classes meet from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Sunday mornings throughout the school year. Music is an integral part of our program, and we are seeking someone who can inspire our K - 6 students as well as provide them with a strong foundation in traditional Jewish music as well as modern and “camp style” songs. Camp song-leading experience a plus! The candidate will be asked to perform all ordinary duties associated with teaching music, included but not limited to the following: Teach music from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on each “school Sunday” (a total of 28 Sundays). Collaborate with the Director of Education on the music curriculum. Teach current songs, as well as traditional and holiday songs, plus some prayers and blessings to students in Kindergarten through Grade Six. Teach music to 3 and 4-year olds at our monthly holiday pre-school program. Lead families in song at occasional Sunday morning family education events. Prepare a school-wide “Zimriyah” (song fest) for the last day of school, to be performed for the parents. Lead songs at our annual Chanukah Shabbat dinner.
