Polti debuts high-end steam cleaning vacuum at Home + Housewares Show
CHICAGO – March 2, 2013 – U.S. consumers soon will have a new line of powerful, environmentally friendly
appliances to clean and freshen their homes. Polti, a leading European producer of small yet powerful household
steam appliances, is bringing its popular products to the U.S. The company introduced its steam cleaning
appliances and steam station iron to U.S. consumers today at the 2013 International Home + Housewares Show
(Booth No. 11742, Lakeside Center, Level 3) at McCormick Place, Chicago.
At the show, March 2–5, Polti also debuted a new steam cleaning vacuum, the EcoSteamVac Turbo, and
previewed its commercial-grade bedbug eradicator.
“Polti’s steam cleaning products clean with the strength of steam alone. They produce superheated steam under
high pressure which thoroughly cleans surfaces without the use of chemicals, detergents or insecticides, so
personal environments remain more pristine, and consumers actually save money over time,” said Executive Vice

Polti’s steam cleaners offer consumers a variety of steam temperatures ranging from 275 degrees Fahrenheit in the
smaller units to 315 degrees Fahrenheit in the premium products for fast, natural cleaning and sanitizing of every
washable surface in and around the home, including floors, windows, rugs, carpets, sofas, windows, kitchens,
bathrooms, fixtures, mattresses, radiators, car interiors and wheels, bicycles, motorcycles, patio furniture, plants
and more. Steam is created in Polti’s high-pressure boilers, and the boilers’ patented safety caps cannot be opened
if there is even minimal steam pressure in the boilers, preventing the risk of opening them prematurely.

Instead of using a bag or a removable canister to capture particles, EcoSteamVacs use a patented, sophisticated,
water-based filtering system that does more than simply contain the dust and dirt: together with the HEPA filter, it
retains 99.5 percent of it, including pollen and dust mites. The “Eco-Active” water filter works by generating a vortex
of water that pushes the particles toward the bottom of the tank and keeps them there without any dispersion back
into the environment. Other vacuum cleaners release some dust and dirt back into the air during vacuuming and
bag changes. Even cyclonic cleaning systems disperse dust when the canister is emptied.
“Polti vacuum systems saturate the dust and dirt with water, which makes it impossible for the particles to separate

Awarded The British Allergy Foundation’s Seal of Approval for their effectiveness in destroying dust mites,

Vaporetto steam cleaners
One of Polti’s best-selling products, the Vaporetto steam cleaner is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. When
it was originally introduced in 1983, it was the first environmentally friendly appliance for cleaning an entire house
with high-pressure, dry steam heated to 248 degrees Fahrenheit. With the use of steam alone, Vaporetto cleans,
sanitizes, degreases and deodorizes any washable surface in the home, plus it eliminates dust mites and allergens.
It cleans thoroughly, naturally and quickly and has received The British Allergy Foundation’s Seal of Approval for its
effectiveness in destroying dust mites.
Today’s Vaporetto steam cleaners offer consumers a variety of steam temperatures higher than the original
model—from 275 degrees Fahrenheit to 293 degrees Fahrenheit—along with different steam output, power,
portability and accessories for everyday and deep steam cleaning and sanitizing. The line includes Vaporetto Easy

Vaporella Pro Steam iron
Invented by Franco Polti in 1978, the Polti Vaporella was the first steam generator iron for home use and led to the
formation of the company. Since then, Vaporella has set the standard for irons with separate boilers. Today’s
current model, Vaporella Pro Steam, is Europe’s best-selling steam generator iron.
Vaporella Pro Steam boasts features of a professional iron, so it lets user save time and effort while achieving
professional-looking results. Unlike with conventional steam, the steam in Vaporella is generated under high
pressure by a separate, high-pressure steam boiler, so the steam is super dry, continuously available and doesn’t
leave water droplets. In addition, since the steam generation process takes place inside the boiler and only steam
goes through Vaporella, no lime scale will block the steam holes or soil the fabrics being ironed.
Also unlike conventional steam or other steam station irons, Vaporella’s steam holes are concentrated at the tip of
the plate and not spread all over it. This directs all the pressure of the steam into the fabric which is what eliminates
wrinkles. Then, the rest of the iron’s large plate dries and “fixes” the wrinkle-free fabric in place with just a single
pass. Since the iron needs to pass over the fabric only once, ironing with Vaporella saves time and effort.
Additional advantages Vaporella has over other steam generator irons include an aluminum (not stainless steel)
soleplate for fast, uniform heat, and a cork handle (not ABS) which prevents excessive moisture from forming in the

It also can be used vertically to steam clothing or curtains without creating surface sheen and as a conventional
iron without steam.
Vaporella Pro Steam will have an MSRP of $249.95.
Cimex Eradicator commercial-grade bedbug eradicator
Cimex Eradicator is an innovative, environmentally friendly solution specifically for pest control. The unit’s
commercial-grade steam generator with patented nozzle superheats steam to 356 degrees Fahrenheit, which
eliminates 100 percent of eggs and more than 90 percent of adult insects and larvae in a single treatment because
it causes thermal shock. This was proven in laboratory and field tests conducted by an independent laboratory in
Italy.
When the steam is delivered, it’s mixed with Polti’s HPMed sanitizing liquid, which helps dissolve the glue-like
substance that binds bugs’ eggs to surfaces and eliminates the characteristic odor of bedbugs. HPMed may be
used in the presence of adults, children, seniors and pets, and does not require the use of protective gear or room
ventilation afterward.

Eradicator will be available to purchase after the company completes registration with the EPA. All Polti products
