Samarth Proposal Emergency funds – Cyclone Phailin Cyclone Phailin Cyclone Phailin, was a gigantic category 4 cyclone, the strongest to hit India in more than a decade. Ganjam district in the state of Orissa was at the epicenter of the storm. Millions of people was evacuated and moved to higher grounds ahead of the storm. Funds Requested and sent In the wake of the cyclone Phailin, the project coordinator Mr Ananda, had requested for the following funds: Purpose Amount (INR) Repair to building, the building is flooded and partly damaged. Notebooks (Perished/Damaged in cyclone). To be subtracted from the 2013-2014 budget proposal of Samarth Text books (Perished/Damaged in cyclone). To be subtracted from the 2013-2014 budget proposal of Samarth 70,000 25,000 School bags (Perished/Damaged in cyclone). To be subtracted from the 2013-2014 budget proposal of Samarth Compass, pencil, pen etc. To be subtracted from the 2013-2014 budget proposal of Samarth 10*60*30*7 mid-day meal (1 meal for 7 months, 60 students). Families of Samarth students have been affected severely and will not be able to contribute towards 1 mid-day meal (originally paid for by them) Additionally, Mr. Ananda has requested that the affected families of Samarth students be given a relief of INR 5000 per family (60 families in all).
