VNS Therapy aired on national news health program The Doctors

CBS national news health program The Doctors recently aired a segment featuring VNS Therapy, which
discussed potential candidates for the therapy and how the treatment works for epilepsy.
Dr. Marie Atkinson of the Detroit Medical Center/Harper Hospital discusses VNS Therapy as a treatment
option. She explains the animation and mechanism of the device, including the magnet. VNS Therapy also
is discussed as possibly being a good option for some patients who are or wish to become pregnant.
Finally, VNS Therapy patient Alysse Mengason is interviewed. She explains that, since being implanted
with VNS Therapy, she has experienced a 60-65% reduction in her seizures and a substantial
improvement in her quality of life.
