CLUB PRESENTATION
CLUB’S NAME & SHORT HISTORY:
Yıldız Technical University Aeronautics Club is created in 2001. Short name is YTÜHAVK.
Since the creation; YTÜHAVK is engaging in model planes, model rockets and paragliding activities.
In the first years of the club, model rocket and model plane educations has been done by the club. In
the following years with paragliding being developed in Turkey, YTÜHAVK started organizing paragliding
lectures. With rising popularity of paragliding, clubs interest shifted to paragliding.
MISSION & VISION:
Imbue Yildiz Technical University students with aviation and aeronautics love, gather people who
have interest in aeronautics under the same roof, provide training to students and club members in
sportive aeronautics branches like paragliding, model planes, model rockets, paragliding. We aim to
participate in aviation festivals and competitions with members completed training in these fields, in
order to represent our university and our club.
FIELDS OF WORK:
As YTÜHAVK, we inform Yıldız Technical University students about many fields of aviation and
aeronautics. We actively arrange paragliding training and flight activities. In the past years we
had model rocket and model plane construction activities.
ACTIVITIES:
As YTÜHAVK we accept students willing to paragliding and provide paragliding training every
semester. We provide starter courses and theoretical training every October. Then ground
handling trainings and flight activities take part.
With students who completed starter course and appropriate level, we arrange educational trips
to country-wide flight zones and we participate festivals and competitions.
NEXT PROJECTS:
We want to reach most of the Yıldız Technical University students, imbue them with aviation
and aeronautics love and we aim to represent “Yıldız Technical University” name best in the
skies by paragliding And we successfully reach our target every year.
