Scope of Work
1. Remove Existing Generator
Price includes cost of removal and disposal of existing generator, complete including oil disposal
or recycling, disconnection of wiring and gas line and patching of concrete pad, if necessary.
2. Remove Vent and Patch Roof
Price includes cost of removal and disposal of existing exhaust vent through roof and the patching
of the roof in accordance with the manufacturer of roof’s specifications. This work must be
performed by Likar Roofing of North Versailles, PA (412-823-1561) in order to preserve the
warranty on the roof.
3. New Generator
Price includes cost of purchase, delivery and installation of new Kohler natural gas generator as
Model 45REZG, or pre-approved equal. In order to use an “or equal” product, submittals must be
submitted 7 days prior to the bid opening for review. Also includes cost of crane to load
equipment onto the concrete pad. Voltage requirements are 120/208 volts.
4. Transfer Switch
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new 150 amp transfer switch to be compatible
with proposed generator, complete including all necessary mounting hardware and connection of
wiring.
5. Area Protection Monitor
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new area protection monitor to be compatible
with proposed generator, complete including all necessary mounting hardware and connection of
wiring. The Bidder is required to field visit and inspect the existing Area Protection
Monitor to familiarize which areas of the building are supplied by the generator. Contractor
will be responsible to reconnect these areas to the new Area Protection Monitor.
6. Electrical Panel Box
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new 30 circuit, 150 amp electrical panel board
complete including connection of wiring and labeling of all circuits. Also includes 12” x 12”
trough under panel board.
7. Concrete Pad for Generator
Price includes cost of excavation, stone base and supply and installation of 12” thick reinforced
concrete pad, as specified and shown on the plans, complete including reinforcing and forming.
8. Extend Gas Line, Interior
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new gas line inside the building to extend gas
service to the exterior wall as shown on the plans. All pipe to be in accordance with the
international building code and anchored to the wall.
9. Extend Gas Line, Exterior
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new gas line outside the building to extend gas
service to the new generator as shown on the plans. All pipe to be in accordance with the
international building code. On the exterior wall, pipe to be anchored to the wall. Price includes
patching of wall. In the area where the line is to be buried, price also includes excavation and
backfill.
10. Extend Electrical Wiring & Conduit, Interior
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new electrical wiring & conduit inside the
building to the exterior wall as shown on the plans. All wire and conduit to be copper and in
accordance with the international electrical code and anchored to the wall.
11. Extend Electrical Wiring & Conduit, Exterior
Price includes cost of supply and installation of new electrical wiring & conduit outside the
building to extend connect to the new generator as shown on the plans. All wire and conduit to
be copper and in accordance with the international electrical code. On the exterior wall, conduit
to be anchored to the wall. Price includes patching of wall. In the area where the line is to be
buried, price also includes excavation and backfill.
12. Landscaping Restoration
Price includes cost of restoring landscaping in disturbed area to match existing conditions
including mulch.
ALTERNATE BID is for exact same items except that the borough would purchase the generator
directly and have it delivered to a location near the installation site.
General Notes
1. All work to be in compliance with the International Electrical Code, latest edition.
2. All pricing to include cost of inspection by a Pennsylvania Certified Electrical inspector.
3. Any questions or concerns regarding this project must be submitted to the engineer’s office prior
to submission of bid.
