Third Grade Students will think about what makes their friend “special” or unique. Students will verbalize a quality they like about their friend. Firefly Activity: Page 90 in TRAILS Teacher Manual. READ: The New Critter Next Door and discuss Activity: Introduction “Hello” Hi, my name is….., what’s yours? Shake hands, start again. Students will think about what makes their friend “special” or unique. Students will introduce themselves to one another. Shake hands, start again. Partner Buds: Identify interests that you both like, and complete sheet. (This worked really well; need 15 minutes) Students will think about what makes their friend “special” or unique. Fourth Grade READ: The Hyena Who Lost Her Laugh and discuss Handout: I Think I Can…..I Know I Can Students will become aware of Three Learning Styles: Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic. Lesson from Making the Link: Pages 145 – 160…. Read story on pages 147-148 Hand out folders and worksheet Review the 3 different learning styles and complete page 154. Given different directions, students will identify what learning style is being used, completing the chart on page 152. Closure: Karate Spelling, using this week’s spelling words: What learning styles are being used?
