Market Researcher Customer Communications Department Reporting to the Head of Customer Communications, you will be responsible for conducting planned and targeted marketing research tasks and projects and for managing the work of suppliers retained to conduct fieldwork and ensuring that all deliverables meet contract specifications. You will also be responsible for assessing/analyzing and interpreting data gathered from fieldwork and preparing presentations used by Section and Department management. Your duties will include conducting and supervising three waves of the Market Tracking Study per year, supervising the supplier conducting the weekly Metropass Diary Study and ensuring that contract specifications and quotas are met, analyzing results, identifying key findings and developing presentations and reports for Section and Department management, conducting research to improve TTC’s understanding of key customer issues, new business opportunities, the transit market and market trends, completing/analyzing customer surveys of TTC users and non-users, managing fieldwork and data collection, performing statistical analysis of research results using various computer software products, conducting acceptance testing for new software installations as required, developing and maintaining technical specifications for tendering contracts to external suppliers and developing, maintaining and managing information databases including past research analysis, reports and presentations for use in addressing new issues, cross validating new research findings and providing information to other internal departments. Annual Salary Range: $85,576.40 - $106,997.80 (Level 10). SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE You require an in-depth knowledge of research methodology, techniques and the development of research tools and have the ability to collect and analyze data, utilizing techniques such as surveys, focus groups, etc. You possess a strong knowledge of advanced statistical analysis techniques and relevant software applications. You are skilled in the development and maintenance of databases and have the ability to effectively manage outside suppliers. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and special studies, analyze and evaluate complex issues, conduct market research and prepare reports and presentations is also a requirement. You possess welldeveloped analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral communication, presentation and report writing skills. These skills and knowledge would normally be acquired through the completion of a post graduate degree, Masters level or equivalent in Urban Transportation or Behavioural Research combined with several years of directly related work experience.
