Ohio University Alumni Association Greater Charlotte Chapter Network is pleased to announce the 7th Annual Charlotte Networking Week! (February 18 - 19, 2010). Registration for the 2010 Ohio University Charlotte Networking Week is available online at http://www.ohioalumni.org/charlotte. The Charlotte Chapter will also be hosting an Alumni Banquet on Thursday evening, an Alumni Happy Hour on Friday evening, and an Alumni event at the Charlotte Bobcats NBA Game on Friday night. Sign up for your visits will be on a first come first serve basis. Please sign-up ASAP since these companies/schools/opportunities are limited in the number of students they can host. You will be expected to attend each of the sessions for which you register. Visits are mandatory! Please be prompt! We will make available each student's schedule one week before the event with which visits you will be attending. The document will include the time, location, and the alumni escorts (if applicable) who will be meeting you. The dress for each visit is business casual or professional. Please, no jeans or t-shirts. A recommended hotel listing is available with this document and during the registration period. Please note the Ohio University Alumni Association Charlotte Chapter is not responsible for student travel arrangements or hotel accommodations (these must be made by the students). Please remember that this is a networking event and not a job fair. The purpose of Charlotte Networking Week is to assist Ohio University students in networking with Ohio University Alumni in Charlotte to help students with their career and job search. Open since 2004, 2 the Charlotte office includes approximately 18 marketing communications professionals working on accounts such as Kimberly-Clark, Allstate, Ask.com, Coca-Cola (Minute Maid), Gillette and Diageo (Crown Royal). PricewaterhouseCoopers Interact with Ohio University Alumni and observe a presentation about the job opportunities in PwC-Charlotte's office, their client base, and some of the specific technology and resources PwC utilizes. Bank of America You will visit with Ohio University alum, Kevin Croke who currently works at Bank of America and you will have the opportunity to tour the Bank of America Trade Floor. Friday Morning Shadowing Opportunities: Bank of America – Shadowing for an IT Major Julie Mann works at Bank of America as an eCommerce Channel Consultant. She just started this job and her responsibilities include leading Small Business eCommerce marketing programs, initiatives, channel strategies and research projects. She assists in creating new online banking products and implementing new marketing approaches. For the past two years Julie was a Technical Project Manager at the bank responsible for implementing new products in Small Business Online Banking. Her past experience also includes several roles in technology, such as programmer, systems analyst, and implementation project manager for Wachovia Bank. Deloitte – Shadowing for HR, Marketing, Sales Major Shadow OU College of Business alumni Beth Zellers (Former Sales/Marketing Major) who currently works as a Recruiting Coordinator for one of the big four accounting firms in Charlotte. Tour Carolina Panthers Stadium Take a tour of the Bank of America Stadium, the home of Charlotte’s NFL Football Team the Carolina Panthers. _ Tour Time Warner Cable Arena Take a tour of Charlotte’s newest Arena, the home of Charlotte’s NBA Basketball Team the Charlotte Bobcats and the Charlotte Checkers hockey team which is a member of the ECHL, and are an affiliate of the New York Rangers NHL team. Tour of Lowe’s Motor Speedway Learn more about the Charlotte NASCAR industry by visiting the Speedway with Matt Long, an Ohio University Alumnus with his Masters in Sports Administration. Take a tour of the Speedway and listen to Matt give a presentation about his job as an Account Executive for Lowe’s Motor Speedway. 3
