YOUR DIRECT SUPERVISORS WILL BE THE MISS TEEN RODEO NEBRASKA ASSISTANT DIRECTOR and the MISS RODEO AMERICA NATIONAL DIRECTOR of NEBRASKA; YOUR EMPLOYER IS THE MISS RODEO NEBRASKA ASSOCIATION, Inc. PLEASE THINK OF THIS POSITION AS A JOB. THE CONTRACT OF MISS TEEN RODEO NEBRASKA THIS CONTRACT entered into this 17th day of June 2015, by and between the newly crowned Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015 Queen , Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director, Miss Rodeo America National Director Nebraska, and the President of Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc., all being official representatives of the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. WHEREAS, the Association is desirous of sponsoring said Queen, between them this Contract is read, understood and agreed. ELIGIBILITY Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015 shall: 1) Certify that she is 15 to18 years of age as of the 1st day of June 2015, a citizen of the United States of America and have been a legal resident of the State of Nebraska for at least one (1) year prior to accepting her title. 2) Certify that she lives at home and/or maintain her legal/permanent address with a parent or legal guardian during her reign 3) Certify she has not been a previous Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, nor held the title of “Miss Teen Rodeo” in any other state. 4) Certifies that she has never been married, had a marriage annulled, been pregnant, terminated a pregnancy, or given birth to a child nor shall she during the year of her reign. 5) Certifies she has never been charged and/or determined to have committed any crime of moral turpitude, nor has had a title removed for any reason. 6) Grant permission to the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant Committee/Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. to verify any and all information contained on her application and attest that the information provided is true. This will include a possible search of public records as well as an internet search. 7) Agree that it is her duty and obligation to portray the highest of moral and ethical standards, show the true ideals of young womanhood and set an example above reproach. 8) Agree to forfeit any rodeo queen title she currently holds and will not represent another title while serving as Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015. Page 1 of 8 9) Certify that she is not currently a titleholder of any other national pageant (i.e. High School Rodeo Queen, Miss Teen Nebraska, etc.) 10) Certify that she has not previously been denied application to compete at the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska pageant, nor had the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska forfeited in the past. 11) Agree that she will not be able to compete for the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska again. 12) Agree that she will maintain weekly communication with the Assistant Director of the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. 13) Agree that she will make every attempt possible to attend all Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Mandatory appearances. DUTIES As Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015, she agrees to abide by the Pageant Rules and Regulations. As Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, she will strongly promote her major sponsor Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. at the events they deem important throughout her reign. Their schedule preferences will be a priority. As Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, she is an official representative and should constantly be aware of the value of public relations between the general public and those actively involved in rodeo, and shall agree that it is her responsibility to uphold her title. As Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, you will strongly promote the major sponsor of Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. NEBRASKAland DAYS and the BUFFALO BILL RODEO, at the events they deem important throughout your reign. Their schedule preferences will be a priority. This includes any and all events held in conjunction with the NEBRASKAland DAYS events held during your reign as Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015. The Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director and the Miss Rodeo America National Director of Nebraska will be the persons who will work directly with her to coordinate schedules and appearances. Should the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director feel certain events would be good exposure for Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska she can schedule these events, and Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska shall make every effort to attend these functions and events. Procurement of any funds under the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, Miss Rodeo Nebraska, or the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. shall be done only by following requirements as outlined in the Fundraiser Contract accompanying this contract. Failure to abide by this rule could result in forfeit of crown. CONDUCT AND DISQUALIFICATIONS 1) It is the duty of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska to portray the highest moral standards, show the true ideals of young womanhood and set an example above reproach, which includes no smoking, drinking, chewing, foul language or inappropriate social behavior. 2) Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska must not marry, or become pregnant during her reign. 3) Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska shall not maintain any form of cohabitation with another person during her reign. 4) Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska shall attend all Mandatory appearances. If unable to attend the appearance, Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will submit a written request to be excused. This request is to be given to the Assistant Director at least one week prior to event. The Assistant Director will then send a written statement accepting or denying the request. Page 2 of 8 5) Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska shall communicate frequently with the Assistant Director. This may be done with a phone call or with an e-mail. The Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director is responsible for the proper, personal and professional conduct of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, and will insure that the rules are strictly adhered to. If an infraction occurs, and the crown needs to be removed, the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director will bring the infraction to the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc., Executive Board within 72 hours. If the decision deems the crown to be removed, the crown, all awards including the saddle, all belt buckles, monies, scholarships, awards, sash, gifts and all items associated with the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Pageant. All items must be returned within 5 days of forfeit title. In addition, Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will forfeit all Category awards and gifts received. The 1st Runner-Up will then assume the title and finish the term. The 2015 Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will sign her contract on June 17, 2015 and will end her contractual agreement on the last day of performance of the NEBRASKAland DAYS/Buffalo Bill Rodeo in 2016. The following contract outlines the restrictions on conducting fundraisers and on the usage of funds obtained. It is recognized by the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. there is some expense involved in completing the reign. It is the hope of the Association that these guidelines will accomplish several goals: assist Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska in learning how to organize fundraisers, teach her appropriate money management, help offset some of the expense of completing her reign, and allow the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Pageant to continue to grow. Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will be allowed to solicit funds within her community with the exception of present or past Miss Rodeo Nebraska or Miss Rodeo America sponsors or contributors. She will be able to conduct fundraisers to help offset some of her expenses incurred as Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska. Total net income from all fundraisers combined shall not exceed $5,000. This money must be directed through the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. treasury; reason being – sales tax to be paid by Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. as appropriated in accordance with the State of Nebraska. All funds raised by Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will be returned to Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska. All expenses submitted by Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska for reimbursement must be approved by the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director and/or Miss Rodeo America National Director of Nebraska and then presented to the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. treasurer for payment. No reimbursement will be made without original receipts. Expenses are to be submitted every three (3) months. ALL PLANNED FUNDRAISING MUST BE APPROVED THROUGH THE MISS RODEO NEBRASKA ASSOCIATION, INC., NAMELY THE MISS TEEN RODEO NEBRASKA ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AND THE MISS RODEO NEBRASKA ASSOCIATION, INC. EXECUTIVE BOARD. The above is a contractual agreement between Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015 and the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. Any breach of this contract will be addressed on an individual bases with consequences of possible retraction of the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska as well as return of all awards associated with the title. President Date:___________________________ Page 5 of 8 RULES AND GUIDELINES Addendum to the 2015 Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Contract 2015 MISS TEEN RODEO NEBRASKA CROWN INSURANCE Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska crown insurance will be provided by NEBRASKAland DAYS, Inc. Deductible of $500 will be paid 50% by Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. and 50% by Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015. MISS TEEN RODEO NEBRASKA ASSISTANT DIRECTOR From the time you are crowned in June until you relinquish your crown you will be under the direction of the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Assistant Director. She is considered your direct supervisor. She may schedule you for additional appearances over and above your MANDATORY appearances and will be available to answer any of your questions or concerns. Please take time to get to know your Assistant Director by building a relationship with her. immediate supervisor – you need to develop a direct line of communication with her! Remember, she is your As stated in the 2015 Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska contract it is your job to contact the Assistant Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Director. You are to call at any time when you have questions or problems and remember – YOU ARE TO CALL at least once a WEEK. Failure to do so may result in relinquishing your title. MISS RODEO NEBRASKA ASSOCIATION, INC. Now that you are the next Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, you will be “working” for and with the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. They are your “Employer” and your main support group. They are comprised of former Miss Rodeo Nebraskas, professional women & men, people experienced in horsemanship, and rodeo people who are available to assist you throughout your year. With their help you will have a very fun, rewarding year that you will treasure forever. The Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. Executive Board consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President, Past Miss Rodeo Nebraska, Miss Rodeo America National Director of Nebraska, two voting advisory/members from Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. as well as the Assistant National Director and the Assistant Teen Director who are non-voting members. They will have jurisdiction over Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska. Any complaints or situations in respect to Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will be brought before the Executive Board. If the Executive Board feels it is warranted, they have the right to remove the title if they so deem. Please refer to your contract. Remember Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. Expectation is: “TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG WOMEN OF HIGH MORAL AND ETHICAL CHARACTER TO PROMOTE NEBRASKA AND THE SPORT OF RODEO” APPEARANCES Each year Miss Rodeo Nebraska is being invited to attend more and more events. Because of scheduling conflicts, the Assistant Director might ask you to attend in place of Miss Rodeo Nebraska. If you make an appearance in place of Miss Rodeo Nebraska you will receive an appearance fee of $125. When attending these events, please introduce yourself as Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2015. Under no circumstances are you to make an appearance representing your title without the approval of the Assistant Director. DO NOT TAKE FRIENDS WITH YOU TO APPEARANCES UNLESS INVITED BY THE HOST. with appearances and will not have time to spend with friends. You will be kept very busy UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO TRAVEL WITH SOMEONE OTHER THAN A FAMILY MEMBER, MRNA MEMBER OR AN APPROVED ADULT. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO TRAVEL WITH YOUR BOYFRIEND OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER from the time you win your title until you pass the crown on, your boyfriend or significant other will always keep a low profile. AUTOGRAPH SHEETS Following coronation on Wednesday morning you will have a photo session. The photo of your choosing will be used for your first 200 autograph sheets to be provided to you by the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. You will need between 1000 and 1500 autograph sheets for the rest of the year. These are at your expense. Please shop around for someone to make those and maybe even donate these to you. The Miss Teen Director must approve your autograph sheets prior to printing. SHORT & LONG BIO Immediately following winning your title you will be asked to prepare a short and long bio. These will be used for publicity releases, appearances, etc. The short bio usually consists of your name, town, parents name, when & where you won your title, and perhaps the categories you won. Please forward a copy of these bios to the Assistant Teen Director and Miss Page 6 of 8 Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. Publicity Chairman as soon as possible. Keep several copies with you throughout the summer as you ride in rodeo’s and parades. You must be sure the announcer or pertinent people have a copy of your bio. The long bio can be more specific as to your interests, talents, education, employment, goals, and why you wanted to be MTRN. Your bio will need to be updated by September 1st and January 1st and May 1st. Any time you update your bio please remember to send a copy to the above mentioned people. Please provide photos and bio's to be used for appearances to the Assistant Teen Director as deemed necessary. WARDROBE The wardrobe that you have at this time should be sufficient for the year of your reign. Your wardrobe must be age appropriate, no cleavage, no bralessness, long sleeves are preferred. MTRN is advised and expected to follow advice from the Asst. Director and other members of the MRNA on her clothing choices and styles. FUNDRAISERS Procurement of funds under the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, Miss Rodeo Nebraska, or the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. shall be done in accordance with the Fundraising Contract (Exhibit B of the 2015 Contract). Failure to abide by these rules could result in forfeit of crown. NEBRASKALAND DAYS, INC. NEBRASKAland DAYS, Inc. is a major sponsor of the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, Inc. It has always been their request that Miss Rodeo Nebraska help promote their activities each year. Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska is expected to all activities and events as requested by NEBRASKAland DAYS. It is a requirement of Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska to ride this saddle at as many appearances as possible to help promote the sponsor’s business. You will be REQUIRED to ride the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska trophy saddle at all events associated with the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant as well as the NEBRASKAland DAYS events as noted above under the NEBRASKAland DAYS Sponsorship paragraph. TRAVELING Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will travel with a parent or guardian or a Miss Rodeo Nebraska member. If for some reason another adult female person must travel with Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska, she must have special permission from Miss Rodeo America National Director and/or Assistant Teen Director. Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska must have at special form completed and signed by said designated female adult accompanying Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska.
