Distinguished Service Awards
OSC will present Distinguished Service Awards to club members who have made
major and sustained contributions to meeting the principal objective of the club.
The objective of Overlander Ski Club is as follows:
"To promote and encourage recreational and competitive crosscountry skiing at all levels and for all ages in the Thompson area of British
Columbia"

To achieve this goal requires substantial and sustained efforts on the part of Club
members. To encourage the spirit of volunteerism within the Club the Distinguished
Service awards will be made on an occasional basis.
The award will consist of a plaque for the recipient and a perpetual plaque holding the
names of all Distinguished Members. The perpetual plaque will be displayed in a
prominent position in the Day Lodge at Stake Lake.
The award should be made at a suitable event open to all Club members.
Nominations for this award should be made in writing by a Club member to the
Executive Board for consideration. Nominations can also be made by the Executive
Board. Nominations should receive unanimous support from the Executive Board. All
nominations will remain confidential.

He organised a group to build the first route to the Lookout and helped build the
Lookout shelter … twice!
For 20 years Bob has served as a valued member of the Trails committee
He has helped with the Ski for Light events and has served as a course marshal for
numerous other events over the years.
Bob is an avid skier. He skis several times a week and represents the Club with
distinction at local loppets, and most recently at the World Masters Cup.
Bob Furseth’s willingness to volunteer is an example to all members of the Club and
he richly deserves to be presented with the OSC Distinguished Service Award.
