ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

COMMITTEE POSITIONS DESCRIPTIONS
Members that must attend regular meetings, averaging one per month during the preseason preparation and the season:
President
Convenes meetings, oversees all Lanyon activities and represents
the Centre at ACT Little Athletics meetings.
Vice President
Deputises and assists the President, organises delegated centre
activities and attends ACT Little Athletics meetings as required.
Treasurer
Oversees all financial activities related to the centre. (Financial
system is fully set-up and functional.)
Secretary
Organises Centre meetings, takes minutes of meetings and
attends to Centre correspondence.
Registrar
Responsible for organising registration days and all Lanyon
Registration Returns. Enter athlete details into recording system.
Works closely with the Competition Manager.
Head Coach
Organises and run training sessions (with help) and look after the
wellbeing of athletes during training and competition.
Competition Manager
Oversees the running of Saturday morning competition including
programming and Team Management. Maintains and updates
centre recording system of results. Prepares folders for Saturday
competition. Organises end of season trophies.
Carnival Co-ordinator
Co-ordinates the participation of Lanyon athletes at ACTLAA
carnivals and organises the parent roster for these events. (eg.
Multi-event, Relay, Southside Regionals etc)
ACTLAA Board Rep
Each club, as part of its affiliation, is required to nominate a
person for the ACTLAA Board. This is a 2 year tenure.
Members that need only attend pre-season and early season meetings. These members are
welcome to attend additional meetings if they wish or as required:
Publicity/Sponsorship Coordinator
Promotes Lanyon Centre and organises sponsorship
and fund raising.
First Aid Officer
Fullfills the role of First Aid Officer on Saturday mornings. Complete
incident reports and report these to the committee. Maintain First
Aid supplies (must hold current first aid certificate).
Assistant Competition Manager assists Competition Manager to ensure effective running of
Saturday morning competition.
Uniform Co-ordinator
Organises the purchase and sale of Centre Uniforms.
Equipment Officer
Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment. Oversee the
Set-up & Pack-up on competion mornings.
Assistant Equip Officer
Assists the equipment officer.
Canteen Manager
Organises and runs the Centre Canteen.
Assistant Canteen
Assist the canteen manager with purchasing and running the
canteen.
Members that do not need to attend meetings but can if they wish or as required:
Parent Roster Manager
Organises our parent roster in conjunction with the Competition
Manager for Centre competition. Organise roster for Set-up &
Pack-up on competion mornings
Website/Facebook Manager
Maintain the content of our web site to ensure information
is correct and up to date.
Lanyon Carnival Manager Establish a Sub-committee and organise the Lanyon Carnival and
keep the committee up to date on progress.
General Members
Usually reserved for ex Committee members. Can also be for
parents/guardians who wish to contribute in smaller tasks as
required, but can’t take on an identified position.
Coaches
Up to 6 coaches (including Head Coach) are required to
implement a successful and sustainable coaching program for
our athletes.
Coaches will be required to attain the Level 1 Community
Athletics Coach qualification, which is:
-
A one day course, fully paid for by Lanyon Little Athletics;
Conducted by Athletics Australia;
Accredited by Athletics Australia; and
Provides you with public liability/indemnity Insurance whilst
you are a registered coach ($40/year registration fee, fully
paid for by Lanyon Little Athletics).
Committee Position nomination forms will be available at the AGM. If you are unable to
attend, and would like to still nominate for a position, the form can be provided to you in
advance of the meeting so that you can nominate by proxy.
