Notice of Position Opening: Alumni Relations Summer Associate Alumni & Parent Relations 700 College St. Beloit, WI 53511-5595 Reporting to the assistant director of alumni and parent relations, the summer associate works in collaboration with the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations to: assist in hosting Reunion 2012 (June 8-10); recruit planning committee from class of 2012 for its 1st reunion (Summer 2013); contact Class of 2012 alumni to augment senior survey data, explain alumni benefits, involve them in regional alumni gatherings; contact alumni affinity groups to encourage participation in Homecoming 2012; increase social networking activity by recent graduates; write additional liberal arts in practice essays; and assist with general office duties (mailings, data entry, scanning, filing, mail runs, etc.). Requirements and preferred abilities: Member of the Class of 2012 (preferred), 2013, or 2014 Available to work 40 hours/week for 12 weeks beginning in mid-May (dates negotiable) Willingness to work weekend of June 8-10 (Reunion Weekend) Proficient with Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license and willingness to be certified to drive a college vehicle (preferred) Ability to carry/lift 50 pounds (preferred) Qualifications: The Summer Intern needs to be reliable, friendly, organized, motivated, possess a sense of ownership of work, and have a sense of leadership. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple projects. Commitment to building and sustaining relationships between Beloit College and its alumni is essential. Measures of Success: At least 80% completion rate for Class of 2012 Senior Survey data A committee of 5-7 Class of 2012 alumni who are excited to help with their 1-year reunion in summer 2013 15 new Class of 2012 BRAG volunteers Active members in the Facebook groups of the Classes of 2010-2012 7 floats crafted by alumni affinity groups in 2012 Homecoming parade 5 publication-ready liberal arts in practice essays Compensation: $10.25 per hour Benefits: A successful candidate will have a job experience that can be applied to positions in a number of fields including non-profit management, higher education, and sales & marketing.
