THIS WEEK AT DEANSFIELD
Year 2 – Literacy Festival
This week, Year 2 children participated in the New Eltham Cluster
of Schools Literacy Festival. Their performance was based on the
book “The Snail and the Whale”, which they performed
wonderfully. I am sure everyone who saw the children’s
performance agreed with us that the children were amazing; we
are so proud of them. The Festival was opened by Michael Rosen,
the famous children’s author and former Children’s Laureate.
Michael also visited Deansfield before the Event to deliver a
session to teachers from the Cluster of schools. Michael told us
that “the displays and quality of learning are amazing at
Deansfield” which coming from a Children’s Laureate was very
high praise indeed! A very proud day for the creative community
of Deansfield.

important for your child to attend every day.

Mr and Mrs?
Uniform
We will be writing to you next week about Uniform. We are
tightening up on uniform next year and will be making a few
small changes which includes asking all children to wear black
shoes and no trainers. Our uniform is important to us at
Deansfield as it conveys many messages about our expectations
and we want all children to be smart every day.
It has been wonderful this week to meet our new Reception

them to school and we are looking forward to their starting their
formal schooling in September.
