Eligibility Information:
1.
Applicant must be currently enrolled in the University of Washington’s BASW
Program.
2.
Applicant must be continuing their formal education Fall quarter at the University of
Washington in the BASW Program.
3.
Applicant must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average at the University of
Washington.
Application Requirements:
I.
Each applicant is required to provide a resume that includes the dates of employment or volunteer position, name of agency or employer, duties and the number of hours worked per week. Include too, any special recognition or awards received.
II.
Please submit a one to two page essay covering the following:
1.
Provide a brief autobiographical statement.
2.
State your reasons for pursuing a career in social work.
3.
Describe any obstacles overcome in your pursuit of a degree in social work.
4.
Describe an area of social work in which you have a particular interest.
The resume and the essay must be typed, double-spaced and attached to this coverpage. The Jones BASW Scholarship is for one quarter of resident tuition.
