September 6, 2013

Meeting called to order by Chairman Dan Tarbell. Prayer led by Ed Willis. Pledge of Allegiance
led by Don Wilson.

Members Present: Chairman Dan Tarbell, Secretary Anita Stadey, and Treasurer Jan
Wojciechowski. Executive Board Members: Roy Billings (VFW 7824), and Don Wilson

CMAC News & Guests:
A. Memorial Plaza Dedication – September 20th at 11:00 AM. The VFW and Am Vets would
like for everyone to join them in this special occasion upon completion of their project by the
railroad berm behind City Hall. Jerry Rollings from Clark County Mural Society reported on
the entire Mural Wall, still having space for the Korean War, Iraq and Afghanistan, and any
other additions. He will be marking off a section into squares for names to be put on the wall,
along with branch of service, death, or special memory. These spaces will be provided with
paint sticks and a ladder for higher squares. He will be starting this at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
and then resuming after the dedication. All will be sealed with a special paint. For more

Veteran’s Day Ceremony – November 11th to be held at the ⃰ Armed Forces Reserve Center. The
Ceremony will be a celebration of all Veterans. Ceremony will be inside along with reception and
displays. Colonel Mark Snyder will be guest speaker.
5.
POW/MIA Recognition Day Observance – September 21st to be held at the ⃰ Armed Forces
Reserve Center. A Monument is being planned which would be placed at the left side of the front
entrance. Ceremony will be inside at 11:00 AM. Reception starts at 9:45 AM with booths
displaying different organizations in the community. Set-up Friday after CMAC Meeting or
Saturday morning 7:00 AM to 9:45AM.
A. Gold Star Banners – Marlene Varga Chairman Dan Tarbell will acquire the pvc piping
to go inside the loops for each banner.
B. POW/MIA Flags – Chairman Dan Tarbell announced that there will be flags placed
every 2 feet apart on both sides of the sidewalk to the entrance door of the Armed Forces
Reserve Center. The Boy Scouts will place the flags.

5. Set up/take down – Dan Tarbell Room will be available September 20th (Friday) or
early Saturday before the Reception.

Stage – Roy Billings Pacific Rentals will be helping with the stage pick-up and
returned.
Chairs – Roy Billings On Hold

Patrol will handle this. Need space for the 40 et 8 Loci.

Invitations, Flyers, and Programs – Samantha Whitley Flyers have been sent out,
Programs are ready to go, and Invitations will be ready also.
Reception – Marsha Keen (Le Femmes) and Joyce Slemp (Emblem Club) The
food and decorations are ready. Will set up at 7:00 AM Saturday morning.
Flag Line – John Hopkins Patriot Guards and the CVI will be lined up outside on
pathway to the front entrance.
Honor Guard and Posting Colors – Captain Richard Ingleby
Bands – Jim Rourk (Vancouver Community Concert Band)
Singer – Cara Cantonwine
In Remembrance Reading – Karla Bean
Set up/ POW chair and table – James Mead and Jeff Davis
Buffalo Soldiers – Bill Morehouse
Program Handouts – Jim Czmowski (Young Marines)
Wreath – Anne McEnerny Ogle. There will be a total of 4 wreaths on display:
Harley Hall, All Veterans, Korean War Veterans, and the 25th Infantry.
Rifle Firing –Richard Alvarez Rifle Firing will be done outside.
Taps – Richard Alvarez Taps will be done outside.
Military Vehicles – Jack Giesen
Gymnasium Booths – Don Wilson To sign up for Booths e-mail Anita to get on list.
Banners – Marlene Varga
Signs – Bill Turlay Need signs on 4th Plain for location of ceremony.
Meeting closed. Next meeting will be September20th at the Armed Forces Reserve Center starting
at 8:00 AM. Still have time for breakfast at the 40 et 8. Breakfast starts at 6:30AM to show our
support to the 40 et 8.
