Dear Parents
Thank you to Mrs Shields, Mrs Brennan and
Year 6 for a very moving assembly
yesterday.
Quiz Night
Class reps are selling tickets for the P.T.A
Quiz Night on Friday 16th November 2012.
Tickets cost £12 each and include fish and
chips from Fish Kitchen. Doors open at 7pm
and the quiz and food will start at 8pm.

Uniform Amnesty
A second hand uniform sale will be held next
Wednesday 14th November 2012 from 2:30
p.m. to 4.30 p.m. in the School Hall.
Come along to re-stock your children’s
wardrobes and kit for 1/3rd of the price of
new. Thank you very much for all donated
pre-loved uniform so far. Please keep
donating; anything your children have
outgrown:
St Mary Mags uniform (Summer and Winter):
jumpers, cardigans, dresses, polo shirts, P.E.
shirts, sweatshirts, tracksuit bottoms, coats,
winter and summer hats and ties.
Other uniform bits: white shirts, grey skirts
and trousers etc.
Shoes: school shoes for boys and girls,
trainers, football boots, plimsols etc
Bags: school rucksacks, reading books,
other school bags
Kit: tennis rackets, goggles, judo uniform,
Really, anything outgrown and not needed
any more.
There are some big laundry bags in the
under-cover area by the playground doors
and in the visitors’ bathroom for leaving your
donations.
Better to donate back to St Mary Mags than
throwing them away! Cash or cheques will be
taken for pre-loved uniform, with all funds
taken going to the PTA. Please contact

Christmas Fair Raffle

the school office) as soon as possible. If you

(Y1M). We already have some fantastic
prizes (including a Kindle Fire and an iPod

We have some brilliant gifts for the Secret
Santa Emporium and all will help to make
the new stand a great success, so thank
you to all for the great effort today.
The nearly new stall is looking a bit sparse at
the moment so just a reminder that any
nearly new toys and games etc in mint
condition can be brought in all both the next
two mufti days as well.
Christmas Fair Volunteers
Calling all dads - We need some dads to help
with children's games (e.g. penalty shoot out,
basketball etc) at the Christmas Fair on 24th

Face painting - We need some volunteers for
face painting at the Christmas Fair. If you can
spare an hour or more to help with face

Christmas Puddings
To order your St Mary Magdalen's Plum
Pudding please use the order form attached
to the newsletter before half term or contact
Geraldine Barker:

The puddings will also be available to buy in
the playground on Fridays. A 1lb pudding
costs £6 and a 2lb pudding costs £10. They
are made by a small Cumbrian manufacturer
called The Ultimate Plum Pudding Company
and are distinctively lighter than most other
puddings.
Parent Workshops
Booking has opened for the next series of
parent workshops led by Gill Hines. These
free workshops are open to any parents who
wish to attend. Places are strictly limited and
will be allocated on a first come first served
basis. To book places please contact the
school hosting the workshop. Schools hosting
the workshop have priority booking. Any
parents’ wishing to book a place on the
workshop we are hosting on Positive
Behaviour Management should contact the
office. After 23rd November 2012, booking will
open for parents’ from other schools. Thank

SANDs Charity
Thank you to all who have brought in milk
bottle tops for the SANDs Charity collection
(especially our star collector Caitlin Manley).
We have now finished collecting due to a
SANDs space issue.

Be More Health and Beauty, who are situated
in Mortlake Business Centre, Mortlake High
Street, are offering 3 events to improve
fitness.
12 Week Weight Loss Challenge!
The sessions, which are held on Thursday
evenings at 7:30 p.m., are designed to help
weight loss, feeling healthier and
understanding nutrition.
£48 or £4 per session.
Fit Club on the Green
Held on Saturdays, fun, motivating and
inspirational sessions for all levels of fitness.
Meet outside Mortlake Business Centre.
£1 per session.
Running and Buggy Club
This club meets on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
outside the Mortlake Business Centre and is
aimed at beginners and parents with children
unable to find the time to exercise.
£1 per session.
Spanish Aupair Offer
Honest and kind Spanish girl, 20 years old,
with A Level English & basic spoken English,
seeks work as a live-in aupair & home help,
for up to a year. She currently studies at
University and wishes to take a year out &
improve her English. No previous
experience, but hard working and good with
