Pageant of the Trees Celebrates Alumni and Friends and
Raises $28,000 for Santa Ana College Foundation
(Santa Ana)—On December 5, a record 360 guests enjoyed a spectacular holiday wonderland at
Santa Ana College Foundation’s fourth annual Pageant of the Trees. The event decked Santa Ana’s
The First American Corporation in boughs of holly and an array of originally designed holiday
trees—all available to the highest bidder. The annual holiday event netted more than $28,000 to
support innovative student programs and scholarships at Santa Ana College (SAC).
“This magical holiday event revealed the spirit of giving by numerous Santa Ana College
friends and alumni who gave so freely of their talent to create so many amazing trees and whose
generosity made this elegant event such a success for our students and our community,” said Erlinda
J. Martinez, Ed.D., SAC president. “Thanks for helping us transform lives.”
Attendees enjoyed gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a hosted bar, traditional holiday carolers, and a
stunning musical performance by SAC alumna Aneta Augustyne. Santa Ana Councilmember and
SAC alumnus Carlos Bustamante was the evening’s honored guest. The First American Corporation
was the evening’s title sponsor and host.
“As a Santa Ana College alumnus, I am very proud that First American was able to step up in
support of the quality educational programs and services at Santa Ana College,” said Ken Purcell,
vice president of national commercial sales with First American and Santa Ana College Foundation
president. “It is a pleasure to work closely with this fine college located in our own backyard and to
see the positive impact the college has made, and continues to make, here in Orange County.”
Joining title sponsor The First American Corporation was event co-sponsor Aitken Aitken
and Cohn. Additional sponsors included Wells Fargo, Northern Trust, Orange County Teachers
Federal Credit Union and Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana.
The Santa Ana College Foundation is committed to ensuring that no student is denied
educational opportunities due to financial constraints. The foundation strives to maintain, expand and
