NCH Trustee

As a children’s charity, NCH consider it essential to recruit a childcare professional to its trustee body and Heather Schroeder will fill this role on Council. We would like to nominate Heather

Schroeder as a trustee of NCH.

Heather Schroeder

Heather is a qualified social worker and was until recently, Director of Children Schools &

Families with Camden Council. She was previously Director of Social Services for Camden.

She has a wide ranging, in depth experience of leading direct and support services and major change initiatives and has valuable knowledge of the current and future agenda for children’s services and for adult social care and health.

Resolution

Acting on behalf of the Conference, in accordance with SO 211(1), The Methodist Council appoints Heather Schroeder to NCH Council, with immediate effect, in compliance with SO 240.

This appointment will be reported to the Conference 2009 in NCH’s Report.

Connexional Treasurer

The Council, acting under the authority of the Conference and in accordance with SO 311, appoints Andrew Gibbs as a Connexional Treasurer and as Treasurer of the Methodist

Missionary Society, for six years.

Reasoned statement

Andrew Gibbs, a Chartered Accountant by training, retired in 2006 as chief executive of CCLA

Investment Management Ltd, the successor company of the investment arm of the Central Board of Finance of the Church of England. A lifelong Methodist, Andrew is a local church treasurer and a director of Methodist Insurance plc. At an early stage in his career, Andrew did refugee relief work in India and Bangladesh and worked for the Methodist Church in the Ivory Coast,

West Africa.
