Gamma Chi Alumni Association of the
Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity
Bylaws
Article I. Name and Purpose
Section 1. Name
The name of this organization shall be the Gamma Chi Alumni Association of the
Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, an unincorporated non-profit association existing
under the laws of the State of Oklahoma.
Section 2. Purpose
The purpose of this alumni association shall be:
1. To cultivate and maintain the high ideals of Pi Kappa Alpha.
2. To maintain and promote true and lasting friendship amongst the brothers
of Pi Kappa Alpha
3. To further the interests of Pi Kappa Alpha in the community and the
individual lives of its members.
4. To ably assist undergraduate brothers and chapters.
5. To motivate and foster a spirit of pride, loyalty, inclusion and respect for Pi
Kappa Alpha and its rich history.

Article II. Membership
Section 1. Membership
Any member of Pi Kappa Alpha in good and regular standing and who is no
longer enrolled as an undergraduate member is eligible for membership in this
organization. The fact that such a member is already affiliated with another Pi
Kappa Alpha Alumni Association will not bar his eligibility for membership in
this organization.
Section 2. Dues
The dues for the members of this alumni association shall be $ 50.00 per year.
Should any member fail to pay his dues, he will forfeit his voting rights and may
be dropped from the membership roles of this organization.
Section 3. Fiscal Year
The fiscal year of this alumni association shall commence on July 1.
Section 4. Funds
All collected funds shall be kept in an account specific for this organization in a
bank selected by the association. The President and Treasurer will be on the
account as signors. Any amount over $ 250 will require the signatures of two
officers. Accounting books shall be transparent and made available to any member
upon request. The President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice-President will have
login access to the Association’s online banking account as an added measure of
security. The online banking password for the association’s banking account can
only be changed upon unanimous consent of the officers, violation of which will
result in removal from office and potential expulsion from the association. The
financial accounts of the Asssociation shall be audited annually; the findings of
which shall be reported to the Alumni Association at the annual meeting.
Section 5. Budget/Calendar
The alumni association yearly budget/calendar shall be approved by the
association on a yearly basis.

Article III. Officers
The officers of this association shall include the president, the vice-president,
secretary, and the treasurer.
Article IV. Meetings and Elections
Section 1. Meetings
A. The annual meeting of this association shall be held on the 22nd day of August
of each year at the Chapter Fraternity House of the Gamma Chi Chapter of the
Pi Kappa Fraternity, or at an alternate place designated by the Executive
Committee provided notice is given to the membership at least 30 days in
advance.
B. Regular meetings of this alumni association may occur at a time and place
designated by the Executive Committee.
C. Special meetings of this association may be called by the president provided
notice of the time and place is given to the membership at least 30 days in
advance.
Section 2. Elections
A. Elections shall be held at the Annual meeting.
B. In case of there being more than one nominee for any office the ballots shall be
in writing. In the case that the ballots tallied fails to provide a simple majority
vote for a particular office, a run-off election shall be held using written
ballots. In the event of a run-off election, all but the two candidates receiving
the most votes are eliminated, and the candidate remaining to receive a
majority of the votes in the run-off shall be deemed the winning candidate.
C. Each officer of the association shall be elected for a term of one year.

Article V. Executive Committee
Section 1. General
A. The executive committee shall consist of the elected officers of the
alumni association and shall be presided over by the president. It shall be
the only standing committee of the alumni association.
B. The executive committee shall conduct all business of the alumni
association between meetings, or events of the association, authorize and
account for the expenditure of funds in the alumni association treasury,
and do all things necessary and proper for the orderly conduct of the
alumni association.
The Executive Committee may appoint
subcommittees as necessary to aid the Executive Committee in
facilitating alumni association activities.
Section 2. Officer Duties
A. President
1. The duties of the president shall include:
a) Preside at all meetings of the association
b) Appoint committee chairman and committee members as necessary
c) Perform other duties as they pertain to his office.
B. Vice President
1. The duties of the of the vice-president shall include:
a) Serve in the absence of the president.
b) Perform such duties as are required of him by the president.
C. Treasurer
1. The duties of the treasurer shall include:
a) Collect dues owed the alumni association.

b) Take charge of all funds of the association and deposit the same funds
to the credit of the alumni association in a bank selected by the
association.
c) Maintain a book of account on all funds received and disbursed during
his term of office.
d) Pay all bills incurred by authority of the alumni association.
D. Secretary
1. The duties of the secretary shall include:
a) Maintain a roster of all members of the alumni association.
b) Keep a record of all meetings and events of the alumni association.
c) Conduct all correspondence of the association with area alumni and
the International Fraternity.
d) Coordinate the maintenance of the association website and
newsletters.
Article VI. Amendments
These bylaws may be amended at any annual meeting of the alumni association by
a majority of members present, except that no amendment shall be passed by a
vote of less than twelve (12) members.
