Block Center: Blocks, tools, cars, trucks, Lego’s, Lincoln Logs, and more
Art/Writing Center: Easel, paint, collage items, ink pads, glue, construction paper, magazines,
scissors, bingo markers, stickers, glitter, and more
Gross Motor/Sensory Activities: The Wii
PLAYGROUND
Students will work on their small and large muscles, as they explore the playground equipment.
SMALL GROUP ROTATIONS
SMALL GROUP #1(modifications and accommodations are made, as needed).
EARLY LITERACY with Miss Maddie (6 students)
Table Activity: Students will choose to cut out a white candy cane pattern or a red one (save).
Book: “Thomas’s Christmas Delivery”
Reading: Read the first third of the book, only.
Activity: Students will decorate their white candy cane pattern, using red crafts, and their red candy cane
pattern, using white crafts.

COGNITIVE LEARNING with Miss Jaci (6 students)
Table Activity: Students will begin creating a duck craft. Students will cut out a large upper-case “D” and
glue it down on colored paper (save).
Book: “My D Book”
Reading: Read pages 6-20, only.
Activity: Students will continue working on their duck craft. Students will cut out a small circle, and glue
it to the front of their “D”, representing the head. Students will also glue on a wiggly eye (save).
SMALL GROUP #3 (modifications and accommodations are made, as needed).
HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS with Miss Lisa (6 students)
Table Activity: Students will sequence their first and last name, using letter tiles.
HWT: Wooden Pieces: All students will place a big line and a big curve on their large laminated board,
forming the letter “D”.
HWT: All students will trace the letter “D”, by completing pages 44 and 45 in their Pre-K workbook.

COMPONENT: Shows beginning control of writing by using various drawing and art tools with
increasing coordination.

3 small groups. Students will work on verbally, requesting snack items from peers, pouring liquid
juice and/or water from a small pitcher, and scooping their snack onto their paper towel, using a
large spoon. Students will push their chair in when they are done and clean their space.
LARGE GROUP TIME:
-Morning Greetings: identify who came to school today and greet them; count the number of
boys and the number of girls; add numbers together to identify how many friends came to school
“altogether”; count how many friends did not come to school today.
-“Pledge of Allegiance”
-Calendar: identify the month, date, day of the week, and activities during the day
-Exercise with dice

Reading/Discussion: Read the middle third of the story.
Activity: Students will complete their Christmas tree craft, by gluing pom-poms (ornaments) and little
strips of colored ribbon (tinsel), on their tree. Students can also glue sequins to their tree to “Light” it up.

down on colored paper (save).

Table Activity: Students will manipulate play-do on the table.
HWT: Play-doh: All students will roll their play-do to form the letter “D”, and place it on their small
laminated card.
HWT: Most students will trace the letter “D”, by completing page 45 in their Pre-K workbook. Some
students will copy the letter, by completing page 5, from their Kindergarten workbook.

Activity: Students will complete their dog craft by cutting out a collar pattern and gluing it to the bottom of
their “D”. Students will draw an eye and color their collar any color they want.
