They will be listed on the handouts or given in class. You must complete and turn in at least 8 of these, your choice. These assignments will account for 20% of your grade. 5 points will be subtracted from your overall points for each assignment missed. Assignments cannot be turned in late or done on a "make-up" basis. Study Guides There will be a Study Guide, made up of multiple choice questions taken from the textbook reading assignments, given prior to each exam. A random selection of questions from these study guides will appear on the exams. Outlines Outlines will be handed out for each week’s material. They list the artworks you must know, topics to be discussed, weekly assignments, and any other pertinent material. Extra Credit There will be a choice of extra credit assignments. Extra credit can be used to make up points lost on exams or missed assignments, up to 25 points. Midterms will include: 1) multiple choice based on lecture and artworks listed on the outline 2) multiple choice based on textbook reading (taken randomly from Study Guides) 3) vocabulary multiple choice (taken from the "Terms to Know" section) 4) possible essay questions based on artworks or special topics listed on the outline YOU WILL NEED A SCANTRON #886E FOR EACH MIDTERM AND THE FINAL CLASS POLICIES: Office Hours: By appointment or after class. Excused Absences: must be cleared ahead of time with the instructor. Unexcused Absences: You may be dropped from the class for excessive absences. Attendance: Attendance will be taken from a sign-in sheet. You are responsible for making sure you are signed in. Drops: You are responsible for dropping yourself from the class. Do not assume that I will drop you. Missed Exams: Make up exams will be assigned at the discretion of the instructor. Unexcused missed exams will result in zero points for that exam.
