Outstanding Issues
Parent meeting area – Elaine & Michelle to work on arranging this with Mrs
Kinnaird.
Swimming lessons for P6 that were cancelled in academic year 2009/2010. Sharon
Coventry has been chasing this no reply as to whether or not this is possible yet.
Fundraising idea for a possible minibus – Transportation still not given the secretary a
reply yet despite chasing the issue. Debbie to carry on chasing it.
Charity of the year update. Suggestions are being given to the Pupil Council on Friday
for them to decide on the two charities.
School Quality Improvement Plan. Final date is to be October 2010.
Gala Notes Handover / Gala Date. Folder has been handed over to Pauline now and
she is attending the meetings now on Masterton’s behalf. Gala date is 25 June 2011
and the theme is “Under the sea”. Pauline to keep us updated.
Parent Council Noticeboard. The location has been agreed and it is to be located on
the right of the school office window inside the entrance hall. The board has been
ordered. Debbie to action updating the board when it arrives.
School song progress. Mrs Kinniard thought it would be more appropriate to get the
parents to help the children add the extra verse with school values in it. Mrs
Kinniard to look through the parental involvement questionnaires for parents
that can help with the music and arrange this.
Cycling proficiency training. Still same status as last time.
Emblem – Playground equipment installation. Progress has been made here with the
rest being installed over the October break.
Head Teachers Update
We were informed about the progress on the playground equipment.
Mrs Kinnaird talked about the allocation of the after school clubs and praised the
teachers contributing their time and energy into this.
Uniform recycling, the lost property to be sorted out and recycled in a clothes sale at
the December Fayre. Vicky, Elaine and Debbie to action sorting this, washing this
etc.
Website to be maintained by more than just Sharon Coventry now and PC minutes etc
to be mailed to the office staff now.
Mrs Kinnaird has checked with Sandra Martin and First Aiders are not required at PC
events like discos.
A suggestion had been made at the AGM by a parent for Parent workshops and Mrs
Kinnaird plans to run these after the October break, before Christmas.
Suggestions were made for blue communication bags to be bought for the P6 & P7
classes. Mrs Coventry to ask the children who want them and we will buy them.
Financial Update
A cheque from the PC account was issued for £249.00 to the school for the
playground fund.
The accounts have been audited by someone Gillian knows from from her work called
Dave Hunter and are correct.
Debbie to action thank you letter.
AGM Discussion
AGM turnout was discussed and new constitution was agreed and has been
published on website and noticeboard. Idea for next years AGM is to have a guest
speaker or to join it with another event.
Election to post
Douglas and Debbie both offered to step down from Chair and Secretary but no one
was interested in these posts yet, so both offered to stay in these roles for another
year. Ewen resigned as Vice Chair and Elaine O Keefe was elected as Vice Chair.
Gillian staying as treasurer and new member Melanie Rennie is elected as Vice
Treasurer. Pauline to be the Gala Liaison and Laura to stay for another year as Fromps
Liaison.
Fromps Discussion
Fromps are to be meeting Tuesday 12 October. They have a schedule of events set.
Next one is 12 November for Disco. Christmas Fayre is on 3 December.
Laura to report on this next time.
Gala Discussion
Pauline had been handed the Gala file and has written a letter to the parents about the
gala asking them to get involved. Pauline to action distributing the letter and to
attend the Gala meetings and feedback to us at meetings.
Travel Plan
No waiting drop off zone going to public consultation (being created near the back
gate on Alexander Way and zig zig lines are to be happening late 2010).
Kirsty goes to bi monthly meetings with the community police to mention travel plan
issues.
Aberdour Road being reduced to 30 miles per hour in the long term.
Car parking is a big issue with some near miss incidents lately. Mrs Kinnaird has
again stressed the safety of the children in the newsletter and stressed the issues with
the parking. Kirsty and Vicky to action a letter to parents and possibly organise a
car park patrol.

Reminder of Approval of minutes
We agreed to a new procedure to get the minutes published faster. The secretary will
type up the minutes and send them out via email. If there any corrections or
amendments to the minutes then please send them to the secretary within a week.
After 1 week they will be sent to be published on the website and to the school
secretary for the notice area.
