A chapter should maintain a presence as a “Good Citizen” and strive to instill in its membership a thorough understanding of the standards of these varying communities as well as an appreciation of positive relationships. The chapter maintains its property in a neat, orderly, safe, and healthy fashion and respects the desired environment of its neighbors (including but not limited to upkeep of chapter house property, proper clean up after fraternity/sorority events, and acceptable noise levels). Chapters will start with the total point value and points will be deducted for situations where University officials must remind them to clean chapter property. NonCompliance of Noise Ordinances will also be counted into this category. Organizations with chapter rooms in campus housing will also be checked for cleanliness of chapter rooms and any office that they maintain. Organizations will be given a one-week notice before a planned inspection. Parties, recruitment functions, or other events must be cleaned up within 6 hours of the conclusion event. Fraternities with houses will maintain fire safety standards as outlined in the Fire Safety Plan. Use the “Community Service/Philanthropy Definitions and Categories” (See Appendix B) to determine the type of philanthropy activity your chapter sponsored. Complete a community service/philanthropic tracking form (Appendix C) for the project performed. While only one project is required with 75% participation, it is requested that all projects be reported with the Greek Accreditation submission for accurate reporting of hours and funds donated by the Greek Community for our Annual Greek Report. The chapter complies with the University policies that govern its students and fraternities/sororities as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and Clubs and Organizations Policies. Any chapter found guilty of a judicial infraction other than an alcohol violation or disruptive conduct charge by the University’s judicial system and/or IFC/Panhellenic/NPHC Judicial Board will lose 22 points. Any chapter found guilty of an alcohol/drug policy violation will lose 44 points. Any violation of the University’s Alcohol/Drug policy and/or IFC, or Panhellenic Council risk management policy will result in a 44 point deduction.
