Meeting Called to Order by Barbara Feinstein 7:00pm Barbara Feinstein thanked everyone for attending, and Bill Davenport for allowing us to hold the Annual meeting at Nonnewaug High School. Rebecca Maclure agreed to take minutes of meeting. All in attendance introduced themselves (approximately 20-25 in attendance) Treasurers Report was distributed and given by Sue Rundall, Treasurer Their was discussion on individual components, Follow up needed regarding monies earned from raffle held at National Convention not received yet. Motion passes to accept report. Report will be saved for audit. The CT FFA Alumni delegates, George Wheeler and Rebecca McClure gave National Report from FFA Alumni Convention held in October 2004. Including ideas on fund raising and possible grants/awards available to chapters. Mindy Crane, CT FFA President gave a report about the FFA Association including the recent JLC held in March 2005. FFA Foundation report was sent in by Patricia Natusch, and presented by Barbara Feinstein and Milton Natusch in her absence. Sponsorships needed for CDE’s $350, various fund raisers mentioned Duck Race, John Deere golf tournament – available online – average cost $20 - anyone can enter. SNET donates 5% of long distance to foundation – visit ctffa web site for details. The report from Washington Leadership Student, Sarah Davis, sponsored by Alumni was not available. Results given (Approved) to donate $200 for CAAE’s Regional Conference speaker July 5-8 at Mohegan Sun, all are encouraged to attend to hear speaker. Committee Reports: Help needed for 75th FFA Celebration June 4, 2005, Smith High School, Storrs, CT. Career Show and Silent Auction. Silent Auction is largest fundraiser of the year. Need one person to coordinate entries, several members to monitor auction, setup, closing, monitor highest bid etc. FFA Honorees Breakfast held at State Armory in Nov. due to weather, many were not able to attend, still a success. Name Change of Association was discussed to reflect who we are and what we do. Parents previously stated they do not join because they are not actual alumni. The name change may help create new members. Much discussion was exchanged, including sending out notices to all current chapters for ideas, and educating chapters, parents, friends on who can be members and the purpose of the alumni group. It was concluded that the issue be discussed at the local chapters and the State Alumni keep the name as is. President:Barbara Feinstein, VP:ReBecca Maclure, Treasurer:Sue Rundall, Secretary: Donna Corbin Sobinski, Positions still need for reporter, 3 members at large. Lori Longhi nominated Fred Scoville as President Barbara Feinstein/Fred Scoville agreed to position of member at large if not nominated for president. Lori Longhi nominated by Donna Corbin Sobinski for Member at Large. Hilda Kapral nominated by Sue Rundall for Member at Large. Paper ballot held for position of President. Barbara Feinstein prevailed. George Wheeler moved to close nominations for VP and have Secretary Cast 1 ballot for VP. , Seconded by Sue Rundall, Motion Passes. Rebecca Maclure cast one ballot for nomination of Rebecca Maclure VP. George Wheeler moved to close nominations for Treasurer and for Secretary cast 1 ballot for treasurer, seconded by Mindy Crane. Motion Passed. Barbara Feinstein closed nominations for secretary. Motion Passed for Donna Corbin Sobinski, Secretary. Barbara Feinstein closed nominations for Members at Large. Motion Passed for: Fred Scoville, Lori Longhi, and Hilda Kapral New Business: WLC Scholarships packets will be mailed to state/affiliate FFA Alumni representatives in mid March direct questions to Betsy Haig at bhaid@ffa.org or 317-802-4293. Alumni Roster and dues must be submitted by May 15, 2005 to qualify for awards and delegates counts. Legion of Merit applications have a new due date of May 15th to National FFA Alumni. FFA Alumni State Leaders Conference July 26-31 in Columbus, Ohio open to all FFA Alumni members and their families. Additional informational will be available.
