The ideal candidate should be BC/BE in internal medicine. This extraordinary group works to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. This hospitalist team covers all of the Family Practice inpatients in exchange for the Family Practice physicians to participate in weekend and weekday call. The hospitalist will admit medical and surgical patients 16 years of age and older. Average daily census is 8 - 12. Coordinate with patient's PCP, hospital, and/or health plan for all ancillary services related to inpatient episodes and all discharge planning needs. Provide medical coordination and inpatient utilization management for surgical patients. Hospitalists admit patients to ICU, and although not required to perform procedures, procedural skills are a plus. Critical care backup for ICU procedures. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work as a team member.
