SAMPLE PATHWAY: HABITAT MANAGEMENT Human activity has had a profound effect on the range and diversity of habitats on Earth. This pathway aims to investigate how the fundamental resources of our natural habitats might be understood and appropriately managed. The role of soils as a major source and sink for the carbon of greenhouse gases, a filter for waste materials and source of water and nutrients for plants is explored. The intimate relationship between soils and plant diversity are also considered as well as the economics and management of the environment.
