Project included the inspection for asbestos (ACM) during the excavation of approx. 4,000 linear feet of trenching within an active solid waste cell and the air monitoring for workers. Ashe Property Group – UST removal, Contaminated Soil Removal, Phase 2 Limited Site Assessment, Waynesville, NC 10/14/04 – 10/15/05 Performed the following duties; supervise the excavation and closure of 4 X 10,000 gallon gasoline tanks at the Handy Pantry Store on Russ Avenue, Waynesville. Collect soil samples for UST tank closure, supervise the over excavation of approx. 650 tons of petroleum contaminated soil, provide support to Licensed Geologist during the preparation of the Soil Contamination Report. Supervise the installation of six groundwater monitoring wells, perform groundwater sampling, well elevations and provide support during the preparation of the Phase II Limited Site Assessment. Duties included project development, liaison between client and regulatory agencies. Mark IV – Active and Passive Remediation and Assessment – Dayco Manufacturing, Waynesville, NC 4/1/03- Present Provided client development, contractual agreement, field supervision to perform Operation & Maintenance (O&) on an active DPDE system, and groundwater monitoring of over 18 GWM Wells on the site with 6 open incidences with the ND DENR UST Section and Aquifer Protection Section. Perform three Site Assessments including receptor survey, vertical and horizontal extent of soil and groundwater contamination at the separate locations within the site as needed to close out 4 of the six incidences. Lead-Based Paint Surveys 4/02 – present Provide administrative support and direct supervision of over 70 lead-based paint surveys and asbestos inspections performed by Mountain Environmental staff members (John Knox Saunders, William Buchanan) and sub-contracted personnel (Pat Price). C. Lawrence Leather Company – Hazelwood, NC Dec. ‘98 Provided soil and groundwater sampling as needed to respond to a NC Inactive Super Fund Site inquiry letter. The results were prepared and reported in order to remove the site from the active site list. Approx. 120 hours were spent on the project. Governors Waste Management Board, Hazardous Waste Committee 1998-2000 I spent two years on the Committee, spending approx. 60 active hours dealing with hazardous waste matters concerning the State of NC, including Bio-hazardous Waste and the radioactive waste depository site criteria issues of the day. RB Centura – Phase 2 Environmental Assessment, Site remediation, UST Closure, Soil Contamination removal, Limited Site Assessment, Swannanoa, NC April/05 – 10/05 Performed a Phase 2 assessment, collecting over 12 soil borings in four areas of concern. Supervised the remediation phase including removal of 2 x 10, 000 and five smaller ASTs, 1 x 1,000 UST and an oil/water separator. Supervision of soil excavation and collection of soil samples for a soil contamination report and performance of two Limited Site Assessments for the UST Section and a Site Investigation for the Aquifer Protection Branch.
