The East Coast Carbon Efficiency (ECCE) project offers eligible small and medium sized
businesses (SMEs) in Suffolk Coastal and rural Waveney districts, the opportunity to save money
by reducing resource consumption, improve the sustainability of their supply chain, access finance
and gain recognition for their carbon reduction efforts through a county-wide accreditation.
Groundwork East of England has supported more than 400 businesses across the whole of
Suffolk since 2008, and has identified average potential financial savings of £5,082 and CO2(e)
savings of 26.53 tonnes per business. Each eligible SME that enrols on the project will receive a
FREE site visit where an advisor will carry out a comprehensive energy and resource use
assessment. Following the visit, they will receive an Energy and Green Procurement Report and
Action Plan which is designed to act as an information portal, tool and reference guide. They will
then be entitled to up to 6 hours of follow up support and access to grant funding and/or
accreditation under the Suffolk Carbon Charter. Participation in this project is completely FREE to
eligible SMEs.
The project is a partnership project between Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils and
Groundwork East of England and is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund
and is delivered in partnership with the Low Carbon Coastal Market Towns initiative. For more
information on the project including eligibility, please visit www.waveny.gov.uk/ecce, email
