Monica Munoz Applies Mathematics at Tella Tool & Manufacturing Company
Monica Munoz, a Brownsville ISD student, enjoyed using the CMM machine to check
dimensions of automotive parts at Tella Tool & Manufacturing in July. Munoz spent
part of her summer at Tella Tool in Brownsville through a Brownsville Career Center

Brandon Barr of Harlingen CISD, Winner of RGV
LEAD Scholarship
RGV LEAD is pleased to announce that Brandon
Barr of Harlingen High School, Harlingen CISD has
been named recipient of a $2,000 SpawGlass
Scholarship to Texas State Technical College. Barr
received the award as part of the RGV LEAD
Scholarship competition in Spring 2015.

Winner of RGV LEAD Scholarship
Andrew Robert Castellano, a 2015 graduate of
Edinburg CISD’ s Robert Vela High School, has
been named recipient of a $5,000 RGV LEAD
Scholarship. To be eligible to compete for the
scholarship, Castellano first graduated as an RGV

Texas State Technical College President Cesar
Maldonado was recognized as a RGV LEAD All-Star
along with state Sen. Eddie Lucio, Jr. and Albert G.
Chronis, an architect with ERO Architects, during

Education Forum on Friday at the Knapp Medical

The Lower Rio Grande P-16 Council created an
Early College High School Planning Subcommittee
in February 2011. Through an application process,
the Texas Education Agency approved the work of
the subcommittee as the Lower Rio Grande P-16
Early College High School Planning Consortium.
