The Carmel Arts Council Literary Arts Scholarships 2016 Application Thanks to the generosity of our corporate and individual sponsors, The Carmel Arts Council is pleased, once again, to offer two Literary Arts scholarships in 2016. The first place winner will receive a $2,500 Literary Arts scholarship and the second place winner will receive a $1,500 Literary Arts scholarship. Scholarship Requirements: 1. Applicant must be a graduating Senior and must reside with a parent or legal guardian paying residential property taxes in Carmel, Indiana. 2. Applicant must submit their own original fiction or non-fiction work 4-5 pages in length and double spaced. Submittal will not be returned. The literary work will be judged based on correct grammar, spelling, clarity of thought, and originality of ideas. Judges will be selected by the Carmel Arts Council. 3. Applicant must provide 2 wallet sized and one 5 x 7 photograph for publicity purposes. 4. The scholarship award winner(s) must provide written proof or acceptance to a 4-year degree program at a college or university by May 30, 2016, in order to receive his/her scholarship award. Once this information is received, a check will be mailed to the scholarship winners shortly thereafter. Required Attachments: + Completed application with all signatures (including parent and student) + Official copy of high school transcript + Brief personal statement telling us about yourself, your approach to writing, how you will be using this scholarship and a list of extra curricular activities or community involvement.
