have decided the following :
TITLE I
Generalities
ARTICLE 1
(Partnerská instituce) and the contracting institution decide to register Mr/Ms (vždy ponechte jen
správnou variantu) …. born on … in … (Czech Republic), for a Ph.D. thesis preparation, under
supervision between the two co-signatory institutions in Doctoral Program (obor).

ARTICLE 3
Intellectual property rights relative to the results obtained during the common research programs will be
protected according to the laws in force in each country.
ARTICLE 4
The results obtained in the course of research programs do not allow registration of a patent or
commercial exploitation by one institution without written permission given by the other. As far as it is
possible, eventual patents must be registered jointly. If one party gives no reply within 90 (ninety) days,
the other party is entitled to register them under its own name. The publication or free exchange of
scientific results will neither give rise to any preliminary permission nor any financial compensation,
except if non disclosure statement is attached to the program.
TITLE II
Administrative modalities
ARTICLE 5
The enrolment of the Ph.D. student is effective from … 201.. The expected length of research is set to 3
years. This length can only be extended in exceptional cases, after a favorable opinion given by the two
institutions and on proposition by the supervisors. This proposition must be introduced 6 months before
the expected date of the end of the Ph.D. thesis set above.
ARTICLE 6
The research will be carried out in both institutions following a calendar approved jointly by the two
supervisors. Any modification of this calendar must be submitted to the two institutions by the supervisors
at least 1 month in advance. Mr./Ms … will carry out his/her work at Charles University in Prague with a
five months stay at (partnerská instituce) over the following periods as specified:

ARTICLE 7
The Ph.D. student must be registered in both institutions. The registration fees will be paid to the
contracting institution. (Partnerská instituce) will not take any registration fees.
ARTICLE 8
The Ph.D. student must take a main insurance in the country where he/she pays the registration fees.
He/she must also apply for a complementary insurance in the cosignatory country of the convention.
During her stay in France, he/she will be entitled to financial resources in accordance with the scholarship
of French government that he/she has received (tuto větu případně vynechat).
TITLE III
Pedagogical modalities
ARTICLE 9
Professor … and Professor … are respectively designated by Charles University in Prague, Faculty of …,
and (partnerská instituce), Faculty of …, to be supervisors. They will ensure the follow up of the student
in the conditions required by each institution. They will consult regularly on the research progress of the
Ph.D. student.
ARTICLE 10
The authorization of the thesis submission is given in agreement between both institutions, in conformity
with their regulations and after a favorable opinion of their competent departments.
The thesis committee is designated by the legal authorities of the institution where the thesis is submitted
(the … Doctoral Board, partnerská instituce), after agreement from the cosignatory institution (Dean of
the Faculty of …, Charles University in Prague). It will be composed on a proportional balanced basis by
academic representatives from both universities. Both supervisors will participate in the oral examination.
Moreover, the thesis committee will include personalities external to both universities. The number of the
members of the thesis committee cannot be higher than eight persons and there will be at least 2 members
of contracting institution.
ARTICLE 11
The oral state examination will take place at the Faculty of … of Charles University in Prague before the
thesis presentation.

ARTICLE 12
A short report will be written in … and translated into … and … This report will allow the evaluation of
the capacity of the Ph.D. student to present his/her work and show that he/she masters his/her research
subject.
After the committee has given a favorable advice, (partnerská instituce) will confer the Ph.D. degree of
(partnerská instituce) and, the contracting institution will confer the Ph.D. degree of Charles University in
Prague.
ARTICLE 13
The Ph.D. student must follow the rules of both countries concerning the registering, the description and
the reproduction of the thesis.
ARTICLE 14
The present convention holds for 3 years. It could be extended following conditions described in article 5.
ARTICLE 15:
This agreement is drawn up in 6 originals in English and in 6 originals in French, both linguistic versions
being of equal legal value. Each party will receive 3 originals in each language.
