3. SUMMARY OF ORIGINAL SCIENTIFIC RESULTS
Ilie CRUCERU
My original results and main papers can be summarised as follows: a. CONTRIBUTION TO DEVELOPMENT OF THE
RADIATION SCINTILLATION DETECTORS AND
SCINTILLATION MATERIALS
In this domain I realised for the first time in Romania, scintillation detectors for the detection of alpha, beta, gamma radiations, fast and thermal neutrons. These detectors were performed with main characteristics similar to the world wide performed. The scintillation elements were atested by Romanian authorities and were used in nuclear devices in our country. In the same time I obtained the scintillation material SPO-86-2, similary with NE 102-A, atested and used in construction of different kind of detection systems for nuclear experiments and dosimetry. Many of this detectors was used to realise alpha probe like:scintillation chambers; scintillation round wineglass, applied in radon detection in geological exploration, uraniu mine extraction and control of building materials(radon emanometers). In agreement with tendences on world level I’ve develop and apply new detection system with PIN photodiode for control of radon emission.In the same time I released the alpha, beta and gamma probe with scintillator detector for devices used in the control radioactive contamination of environment.The filed of problems is covered by my Doctoral
Thesis.

.DETECTION SYSTEMS APPLIED IN NUCLEAR
PHYSICS,BIOPHYSICS AND HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS
In the last ten years in our department was one request for the development of new detection systems using scintillation materials, applied in nuclear physics, biophysics and high energy physics. In this view I developed and applied the following detection systems and measurement methodics:
- research and performing of a detection system based on the plastic scintillation element associated with PIN photodiode;
2
- search and performing of some detection systems of calorimetric type
(electromagnetic and hadronic) using scintillation plates and lead absorbers, applied in interaction processes at high energies. This kind of detection system was applied in the SPHERE program at Joint Institute of Nuclear Research, DUBNA, RUSSIA;
- research and experiment on the utilization of the plastic scintillation rods in performing the control detector (vertex detector) for the SPHERE experiment, Joint
Institute of Nuclear Research, DUBNA, RUSSIA;
elaboration of bending technology for long dimension scintilla tor rods used in TONNERRE project, applied to LPC-Caen, France ,The multidetector TONNERRE was used to the study of “The beta decay from weak interaction to nuclear structure”
developing an detector array with plastic scintillators for study of Nuclear pair pre-emission in the fusion of
11
Li halo nuclei with Si targets,applied to
Accelerator Research Facility ,RIKEN-Japan;
research and experiments about developing the dielectric materials with resistivities between 10 9 -10 12 Ω.cm to be used in built of detectors with gases descharge (Pestov and RPC detectors)
develop and build an new type detector RPC(Resistive Plate Chamber) used in the FOPI experiment to GSI-Darmstadt, Germany b.1. Main papers of this subject are:
