If a student does not enroll for 1 credit each semester, s/he will be in violation of the Graduate School’s rule and may have to re-take credits toward the degree and may be removed from the program. All students must take and pass the math portion of PRAXIS I during their first semester in the program and must pass it before ix Students have 6 years from the first date of enrollment to complete the MAE enrolling in ARTE 501. Independent study or thesis courses do not count for this requirement. Any request for an exception must be submitted in writing to the head of the Graduate Programs Committee. v A thesis takes at LEAST 2 semesters to complete and faculty members are available for advising theses in the fall and spring semesters. vi Students must take PRAXIS II during their third semester and have passing scores before applying to student teach. Students must also pass their thesis or comps before enrolling in their student teaching semester. Depending upon a student’s financial aid status, s/he may choose to take either TEDU 485 (6 credits - undergraduate) and TEDU 486 (6 credits - undergraduate) OR TEDU 672 (graduate) as a full time student.
